This should make you laugh

We have decided what we are going to call our Boxer! We are getting him in less than 5 weeks time and my husband and I have argued a lot about what to call him smashicon I've been telling him jokingly that I want to call him Willie hehe, cause I think it's so cute. Of course we wouldn't want that as his actual name lol :p BUT, earlier on we remembered that movie "Good Boy", which featured an extremely adorable, funny Boxer called Wilson. We both really started liking the sound of it (wow what a miracle!) and we think it fits a Boxer really well hehe. PLUS, now I'll be able to call him Willie at home, and Wilson when I'm out in public (yay!!) hehehe. It's PERFECT!! appicon grin2icon fiestaicon beericon

(As you can see, I'm very excited about this)

Completely Boxer Crazy
Lets See

12 years ago when we went into the breeders house, there was this tiny tiny white ball of fur, (7 wks) with this big "nob on her head" we call it. The other puppies are running around playing, she tried to get to us first so she trampled all her brothers and sisters squealing at the top of her lungs, then wouldnt let us hold any of the others without hearing from her! Sooooooooo we brought her home and knew that a name like muffy or pumpkin or something really girly was not gonna work for her, so we came up with Roxie, it just fits her.
Then Dylan I named before we got him, he was the biggest one in the litter and had a twin brother, he picked us. He would not leave us alone, so we gave the breeder her money and off we went. He was just a Dylan, Dilly Bug, Baby Boo, Dilly Boo.
Then Maya we adopted from our Breeder after Dylan went to Heaven. She's a retired show dog(3yrs). Now 4yrs old and she was named after Maya Angelou.
So, we call her Maya-lou, all kinds of silly things.
Everyone has great stories Ive enjoyed reading them.

What A Battle

Well naming Konah was a battle...with my bf. I came up with about 15 names and he kept vetoing all of them but wouldn't come up with any on his own, i liked Duke, Major, and Dallas. These of course were completely unacceptable. (i lived in texas last year so i thought Dallas was cool). He finally came up with Sirius (the dog star) but when he told me, i looked down at our little bruiser, who was inside our wood coffee table looking up at us through the glass panel on top and then he banged his head and looked so goofy i couldn't name him anything that sounded like "serious." So we went to the vet to start a file and this lhasa-apso came in and was called "Kona" my bf and i looked at eachother, grinned and thus our clown was named. "Kona" is also a scandinavian coffee, island in Hawaii and the brand of bike my bf bought. I added the "h" for a little difference.

So we stole it but it really suits him. His nicknames are Boo (he's white) and Konah-Bear. He's so cute and i just love 'em! (he's our first dog/boxer but i think we'll only have boxers now).

Loke

Loke was from a Hawaiian dictionary. We wanted a Hawaiian name since she was born in Hawaii. It means Rose.

Hehe thanks DRW. I told everyone at work that I'm naming my dog Wilson, so I can also call him Willie for short, and they think it's really funny lol. However, some did look at me like I'm off my rocker!

Jorja'sMom

Jorja's name story.....

Well, my boyfriend and I got Jorja from a breeder when she was 7 weeks old and we could not figure out what to name her. We went round and round arguing about what to name her but could not compromise on one.
Then, late one night about a week after we got her, I was sleeping and I heard her whining to get off the bed to go potty. So (half asleep) I stumbled with her downstairs and took her outside. She would just keep walking around in circles without actually going potty. So, I started getting agitated and in my half asleep state, I started singing the song, "Why Georgia" by John Mayer. When I started singing the chorus..."Why Georgia why?" She looked up at me as if I was talking to her. I sang the chorus part again and that time she barked as if to ask me, "what?!"
From then on, when anyone asks me how she got her name, I tell them, "Jorja told me."

Bauer

We named our little 8 week old guy Bauer(pronounced bow-er). It is a hockey company that makes equipment. We thought it sounded good. Bauer the Boxer. I am also a huge hockey fan, watch it, and play it.

Being from the Tampa area, WOOOHOOOO for the Lightning winning the Cup this year! :D
