Why you named your Boxers what you did?

Cuatro (Spanish for four). When I was growing up, a friend of mine had a brother they called Cuatro. He had his father's name (who was the III). At any rate, I always thought that was a cool name.

Significance after the fact: he has four legs (duh) and he was the fourth pet for me and my wife.

We are about to adopt a rescue female pup next month. We have never twisted over pet names like we are on this one. The people who had her did not do a good job cropping her ears so she looks somewhat like an elf.

We can't wait to get her, but don't know what to name her.

My first boxer came with the name Ginger and somehow we tacked Pie onto the end of it, so she was Ginger Pie. My girls will always have Pie in their names in rememberance of her. Pie'Oh'pah is a magical character in Clive Barker's Imagica and seemed to suit my precious girl.

My babies look almost identical, all plain fawns with the same white markings, so I color-coordinate my babies. It's the only way others can tell them apart. :)

Buddy came with his name from rescue, and after much discussion, decided it really suits him, he's everyones' buddy! Since I always seem to have two names-he's Buddy Blue. Keller was originally Mickey from rescue, they thought he looked like Mickey Mouse. When I first got him, he did the Helen Keller thing, going from bowl to bowl picking out the choicest pieces while the others watched. And since he has to have a color...he's Keller Green.

I love names!

Nala was named when I got her.

Meta (a white) was named after one of the first boxers brought over from Germany (also white). Meta Yon der Passage was supposedly the founding mother of the boxer breed.

Rigo was the name of the boxer who set the standard for fawns in the early 1900's . . . but also his father was Rio and his grandfather was Ringo.

Penny is "Copper Rose" and was named using two names off of our Nala's pedigree.

Such fun . . but I hope I don't have to name another one for a while. Four is a lot of love!

Boxer Buddy
When we decided to get Tiberious we wanted a big proud name for him. As I am a major Star Trek fan we went with James T Kirks middle name. I also enjoy another show that is very similar to the original Trek called andromeda. On Andromeda there is a character who is a genetically enhance soldier of fortune type. His name is Tyr Anasazi and so we named him Tiberious Anasazi. I know the spelling is off on his first name but I feel it gives him character.

Thanks. On the silhouette, I took a picture of him in the shadows. Later, I opened it in Microsoft Paint and just painted him black and the background blue. :)
