Sorry my mom moves every year. Has for 15 years now. It drives me crazy. Not so much that I mind, but I just get sick of it. But the downside, she's moving from an apartment that is 28 stairs bottom to top, and her new place has a yard & with no mower & she hates mowing, the upside her new place has a fenced in yard and is cheaper. I would just like her to stay there for 3 years. I would be so happy. Sorry just needed to vent, since I found out today and we are moving her Sunday morning. Guess its part of being the child no matter what your age.

That is pretty strange it also reminds me of my mom when she was growing up her mom and dad would move while they were in school and they wouldn't know until they walked to the old house and no one was there..I guess they were running away from 9 kids

Some people just like change. I have a cousin who has moved close to 20 times. Who knows why people do the things they do.

Maybe that is why I rearrange furniture all the time..I don't move but the furniture sure does..my hubby will come home and just look for his chair

just wanted to say thanks for listening and the thoughts. Talking with my brother last night, we have it worked out. him & I will do the moving (we tend to get in trouble, if someone is there to supervise) But mom, GF, & brother's wife will unpack. Both dogs are going to the new house to test out the fence, and have a little play day. That makes it better.

I'm a compulsive mover, too. I lived in on-campus housing my freshman year of college, off-campus with roomies my sophomore year and by myself in an apartment my junior and senior years. After college, I lived with my parents for 2 months, my aunt and uncle for 3 months and then I moved to my current apartment last November. I'm moving to a house this November. I hate the manual labor of moving furniture, but I love having a new place to decorate and more space (I move to a bigger place every time).

I have been a compulsive mover too...but in all honesty I haven't had a choice in the matter. I've moved 15 times in 8 years...unfortunately we will be moving again, but on the bright side it will be to a house we will buy!
I guess some people enjoy the change of moving, I however am just sooo sick of it!
I can't wait to own a house and just stay there and know it is my own!!!!
Has she ever owned? Maybe if she did, it would feel more like her own, rather than renting...

To everyone. She hasn't owned since the early 80's, and rents so she doesn't have to fix things(right, that's why she had boys), out of pocket. The move went well, we were told there are just a few things left. It took us 3 trips each with 3 trucks. But its over with for now and as long as she's happy.
