Why do they walk in circles before laying down?

Does anyone else's boxer do this? She just started doing it maybe a few months ago (she is 9 months old). What she does is she'll jump up on our bed and walk around at least 5, if not 10 or even 15 times, before she lays down. It's hysterical!

Anyone know why they do this?

Zeus does this sometimes. He only does it if he trying to push down the blanke to pillows that he sleeps on. His bed he sleeps on downstairs he just lays on. I think they do it to get comfortable.

Well as I was reading this post, Titan went over to his bed turned two times and layed down and let out a big ole sigh. He always sighs when he lies down- guess a boxer's life is rough..........HA HA HA HA if they only knew how easy they had it!!!!!

I think it goes back to wild dogs trampling down grass to make a bed...think I read that somewhere once so I'm not certain, but it could explain it!

I heard that same thing before. My two do it, but Justice is real crazy about it. My two also have the big sigh to top it off.

circling

Boomer is a perpetual circler. She, too, lets out a huge sigh when she lays down. Switzer occasionally circles but rarely sighs. Just another quircky Boxer thing.

It goes back to when they were wild dogs. They went round and round to get the grass all going in the same direction as when the grass was dry it could be prickly. :)

This was answered by the dog from another planet that lands on Earth in the movie "GoodBoy". I am having a brain-freeze and can't remember what the answer was right now, so tomorrow, I'll have to watch the movie again :) I'll post the dog's answer tomorrow

this is our first pure bread dog. We have always had "mutts" isn't it amazing the character traits that dogs have carried for generations.
