Why do people feel compelled to give you their 'expert' opinion (vent - long, sorry)

This lady sounds like one class-A *itch...

She probably likes to show her "knowledge" about dogs off to her entourage. It's too bad that she has nothing better to do in a day than infuriate people to make herself look good to her little clan. I am glad that you took hard evidence to show her up. It's not surprising, but really funny, that she didn't take it. Some people will just never change their minds about anything. I hope you guys can find a fun place to play where that crank isn't around... it's too bad she is chasing you out of the park, but you're better off not having to deal with the stress.

I found another wonderful quote in the Culture Clash today - "The bland, behaviorless animal many people bond to so strongly can scarcely be called a dog. It is the ghost of what once might have been a dog." I sent it to all the people with 'real dogs' who I hang out with and one replied that maybe we need to get an exorcist to that dog park to get rid of the dogs and demons - teehee!

Wendy, yes I love Point Izzy - but being in the City, usually only get there on occasional weekends. SF is so anti dog at the moment and strictly enforcing leash laws. We go to Fort Mason in the morning before anyone else gets there - and have a great group of dogs who are all 'real dogs'. The evening is tougher though as there are more people around and therefore more cops - I've never encountered before feeling like a criminal, but if you have your dog off leash in the City that's how it feels!!

So I'm a criminal with a dangerous dog - my Mum would be proud!!!

Sigh - at least I have my big, lovable, monster boy, who last night I taught to give kisses on command - how's that for vicious!!

To end this thread on a positive note and move on, I was walking Mason this morning and a man with an old mix breed dog came over to admire him. He said that he'd always loved boxers and (he covered his little dog's ears) was hoping his next dog would be one. I said how much fun Mason was, as Mason was licking the guy and giving him boxer kisses. I said also that I'd had some problems this week with people accusing me of having a dangerous dog. He just started laughing and said "oh, you must mean at Moscone Park(the dog park in question) - that bunch of hypocrites with their trophy dogs - I never take Madison over there. In fact, they and people like them are the reason my wife and I are leaving San Francisco - it's just not the tolerant, beautiful city it used to be!"

I felt so happy to have met this man and know for certain (which I already did, but it's nice to get confirmation), that it was nothing to do with Mason or I, but just a bad group of people!

Some people feel big when they make a scene and cause problems. You know your dog, bottom line and you don't seem like a person who would put anyone or anyone's dog incluidng your own in danger. Do want you want and if that lady bother's you again tell her where to stick it. She is a little person to talk to anyone that way and the fact that she thinks she is an "expert" well whatever. Sure she is....

Keep on keepin' on and don't stop going to that park...Mason is fine and he was just doing what dogs do sometimes. What kind of dog does she have, just curious??

The queen 'female dog' has a retriever. The three time national champion (whatever!) 'female dog' has a collie and the her friend 'not my mother!' has a terrier - all trophy dogs!!

Mason has far more fun, is far more spoilt and is a 'real dog'! We will be exploring other places to play in the evening as I just don't want to have Mason around them or expend any more negative energy on them!
