Boxer Booster
I've posted before, as my new rescue Chubs was vomiting food overnight 2 days a few weeks ago. We made several changes and figured that we had fixed the problem (whatever it was!) but apparently not. He woke me up last night at 11:30 and we barely got any sleep at all! Tried Pepsid--didn't help. He was still coughing up spit when I left for work at 7:30, though my husband said he was better later this morning.
The fixes we tried were:
1. switched food from the beef/rice he's been on since vomiting 2 weeks ago, over a full week, so he is now on Fromm's duck and sweet potato kibble
2. added probiotic
3. just Saturday went back to adding fiber w/1 tablespoon of canned pumpkin w/each meal to try to treat persistant anal gland infection
4. added antihistimine drops 2x/day to treat phlegm in throat
My husband thinks that since he and his brother were in basement playing video games (and being loud) that the dog may have gotten excited or anxious while gated in the bedroom while I was sleeping. Could that make a dog throw up? We think it was the same situation the last time he vomited.
Our other obvious culprit is the canned pumpkin, so that's done for now.
What else makes a dog throw up? Same treats. Took away all rawhide/bully stick since last episode. I walked him yesterday and didn't see him get into anything odd. He is going to the bathroom normally. I want to have some ideas to offer the vet when we go tomorrow, since all of the things we tried since last time apparently didn't work. Ideas?
