We named our girl after the NFL player Brandon Stokley. He's no longer playing for the Colts, but we still like him. Others ask if we named her after the vegetable company!

my boxers names....
We named Rock because his dads name is Stoney, we named Pebbles to go with Rock, we wanted to name the babies to go along with the rest but couldn't find anymore Rock type names that were acceptable so Fagan means firey little one in Italian (he was so full of spirit from the beginning and then fought his way back from the edge of death so young) and then Fiona came from my hubby he says she just looks like one. Daisy our Boston Terrier was named when we got her and Mokie our Malimute was named when we got her too but they said they were calling her Smokey till they found out he was a she so they dropped the S. Most think I named her after a fraggle. Anyway those are my fur babies and how they got their names.

DH named our new boxer pup Hercules because of how big his paws are. He sais if he turned out anything like his paws, he would be massive! We have two other fur babies. A pomeranian named Blue Clues- named by my 4 year old daughter. And a chihuahua named Punkin Pie- named by my 6 year old daughter. The only problem is that everytime I say our hear someone say Hercules, I think about the scene in the Nutty Proffesor movie when they are all sitting around the table making crude sounds and the mother starts clapping and saying Hercules, Hercules Oh, My Baby!! I can't help but, laugh!

Teenage daughter named him, Edgar Allen Poe. She was into scary books and movies at the time. Edgar bacause he had a little egg head as puppy and it really just sort of suits him. We have not met any other Edgar furry friends. She named our black cat, Persephone, Goddess of the Underworld. The shelter named her Percy and that is a boys name. She is still Perse, for short.

I must admit I am a big Lord of the Rings fan. We named our new baby girl boxer Arwen after the role Liv Tyler played in the movies. She played a fairy and was angelically beautiful in the movies - just like my little girl!
We named our first boxer Elvis just because we thought it was a cute name for a dog and the boys really liked it. I was outvoted on George.
We also have an 11 year old Basset Hound named Roscoe Pecoe Train (from Dukes of Hazzard) too many people had a basset named Flash at the time.
We always let our boys take part in names - our kitty's name is Storm. Named from X-Men- Halle Berry's role.

When we adopted Layla she came with the name Layla Ali (Layla is not spelled like the boxer, maybe they didn't know how to spell it) Anyway, we thought the name was very fitting especially because she has a "black" eye as our 4 yr old says (actually it's brindle)

Ares got his name because I wanted it to be something mythological. Ares is the Greek god of War, well, specifically of slaughter, which sounded really tough and so that was what I decided. He sooooo doesn't behave anything like his name though!! The only thing he has slaughtered thus far are a couple of flip flops

We named our pup Cooper. Bad thing is some people would say, how cute Cooper the pooper. My DH said he did not like people saying this about his big boy so we would have to change his name. We tried a new name for a few days and it just did not fit him. So he is Cooper. Not Cooper the pooper but Cooper the Shmooper. :D
