Shasta acutally was originally named after a friend of mine. My friend is so outgoing and has a great personality and carefree.....like a boxer of course! So that's how she got her first name. Her middle name is Daisy. Pretty common right...well I found that there is a flower called: Shasta Daisy so it just seemed perfect. Though some people think she's named after the soda pop. Oh and ironically I found out that my friend Shasta had a dog named Daisy!

She has some nicknames too: Shasty, slobberchops, Chewy (for Chewbacha s/p? from star wars....she makes the same noises), bratski, brindle butt, and silly sister sally sassy pants.

Jaxon got his name because his father's name is Jag. When I looked up Jag on a baby names website, it said that Jag was a nickname for someone named Jack. Jackson (Jaxson or Jaxon) means "son of Jack".

What initially started me looking into the name was a reply on BW when I asked for help naming him!!!

My DS is a big Rocky (movies) fan. He wanted to name our first boxer Rocky. We have several friends who have dogs named Rocky, so I wanted something besides Rocky but still related to the movies. I suggested Balboa and DS actually liked it.

Our Rocky is also named Rocky Balboa, he was my mum's dog but she became too ill to keep him so he came to live with us
Clyde had his name when he got us & when our girl arrived we just had to change her name to Bonnie.

KenTUCKy love.

Tucker's name came to be because my huband and I spent some time in the great state of Kentucky and loved it! We call him lots of variations of the name: Tuck, Tucky and Kentucker when we're being silly! He fits the name perfectly because Tucker kind of sounds like a trouble maker name...and he definetly fits that description!

Ruby because she is a red/fawn female and it's such a pretty name.

Luka because I just love it and it means 'light' in latin, perfect for my white boy :)

Lola's mum

My husband named Lola, we all agreed it was a beautiful girlie name for a beautiful girl.

Zebedee is named after a character in the childrens programme over here (1970's) called 'The Magic Roundabout' He was like a Jack from a jack in a box and after going to pick him out of the litter and seeing him boing all over the place we couldn't call him anything else after seeing him.

Our boxing boxers

Hey! I'm new to this so I here's my first thread. Our 2 year old fawn male is Apollo Creed. We call him Apollo or Bub. We have always wanted a boxer, so it just made sense to give him a boxers name. Our second boxer was a female, her name was Jelly Bean. She only lived a year, (had a heart defect that caused a heart attack), she was the runt of her litter, and could fit in the palm our your hand, thus the name Jelly Bean. We all missed her so much, especially Bub, he was extremely depressed, it was sad, so we got him a new sibling, our 9 week old brindle male, Rocky. We figured it only made sense, although we've been told that we need an Adrian, YO Adrian!!
