Generally yes. The more pigment in the external ear region, the more likely it is that there is pigment in the internal ear (and hence, less risk of deafness due to lack of pigment in the inner ear). No guarantees of course But it's only about one in five white pups who're going to end bilaterally deaf anyway.

My breeder charges 800 for white pups, which a huge discount from the 2000 she asks for the others.

My white Lily was basically free from a show breeder. I just paid for the airfare, health cert required by the airline, and her crate she was shipped in!

When we got Harvey we could have taken his white brother who for the record was deaf as a door knob for £150 somewhat less than we paid for Harvey, the breeder would then have also paid for the spaying when he was of age to ensure that the dog was not used to breed from.

White boxers are cute and the other half adores them, i dare say that our next dog will be white.

As already pointed out by several other board members i would avoid any breeder that charges more because the dogs are white!

what I have a question about is why white puppies are sometimes more expenisive thanbrindles or fawns? they cant be shown, and I heard that they shouldnt be bred. I was just wondering, cause I have been looking at puppies and their prices are usually more

Oh my God!! I'm sooo glad you said this!! let me tell you! I too am from N.C. and I raised the same question on here about a month ago! A friend of mine bought a white Boxer and paid almost $1,000 for him! I was shocked! The people told her white Boxers are rare. I did a lot of research for her on it and asked around on here. Everyone has said the same thing...that they SHOULD NOT BE sold for more than any other Boxer and should infact be less.

PLEASE be wary of who you're getting this pup from! We live in Winston-Salem. I told my friend about it but it was too late. She is in the middle of a legal battle with them now since doing some research on her own. She loves her white boy and doesn't want to part with him, but she wants these people stopped!
