White Boxers registered?

White boxers being registered
I was looking at getting a playmate for my dog. I was checking out a breeder that has a litter of 3 male pups. The one I like is white. I called the owner and asked about the white pup...cost..
She told me that white boxers are now being registered by the AKC. I thought that white boxers could not be registered. But she said that she spoke with the AKC and they told her different. I have a sneaky felling that she is not being honest. Does anyone know?

I think that if you are a registered breeder with AKC you cannot even sale the dogs. You can only place them in homes. That is what our breeder told us. She will not even ask for the money it costs her to get them up to date with shots and worming.

That's what I thought . But she said that she had called the AKC and said that they were now registering them.....I got my boxer two years ago and all the papers from the AKC said they could not.

She said she was asking more for him since he was sought after. I know the white boxers are cute but have a lot of health issues sometimes.

I have a white little boy and I too was under the impression that you could not register them.

White boxers can be registered with the AKC as Fawn with white markings. If you look closely at white boxers, there is usually a little fawn spot somewhere, even if its a freckle sized spot. While technically you can register them, there are breeders/owners on both sides of the fence.

I think the purpose of registration is to keep track of the number of boxers, lineage, and to further enhance the future of the breed. That means that all members of all litters should be allowed to be counted.

A white boxer would be disqualified from the show ring, and responsible owners/breeders would not breed them, but that doesn't prevent a white puppy from being registered.

I did read that the ABC does not recognize them, but they can be registered. I am not looking to show the dog but wanted to make sure that these people were being responsible and not BYB.
