I am also in the same boat with the whining and crying in the crate. We've had our puppy now for a week yesterday. And he is still whining and crying in his crate.
He does really well going in there
IF he is just plain exhausted from playing. But in the middle of the night after he gets up and we let him outside and he's put back in his crate he sometimes goes right back to sleep and other times he whines, cries, and barks anywhere from a few minutes up to an hour.
I have put everything I can think of in his crate, his toys, his kong (which he doesn't seem to like much), a stuffed animal (which he loves), his blanket, his pillow? I am out of ideas.
I've been sick all weekend and stayed home yesterday and all I wanted to do was sleep. Since he isn't completly housebroke yet I don't dare leave him out of his crate when I can't watch him 100% of the time, not to mention he can find anything and everything that is left on the floor...

But he whined, cried, barked, and started howling for almost an hour, and he is in our bedroom.
I am out of ideas...what do you do when they don't seem to like their crate, or am I just expecting too much since it has only been a week.
But boy they sure are cute and such cuddle bugs. I wouldn't trade him for anything! lovicon
