It been 9 years since I've been to the Philippines and I don't remember much, but I do remember that they have the most beautiful beaches.
The best part of the trip was this old plantation that my aunt took my family for lunch. It was so cool.
We walked toward this cliff where you see this beautiful waterfall. Off to the side were stairs that were cut into the cliff. The stairs brought you to the bottom of the waterfall where there was an outdoor resturant. You removed your shoes and were escorted into the stream (the water is only 8" deep) to picnic tables that were bolted to the granite in the river bed. The wait staff brough us food then played music to keep us entertained.
It took awhile to get use to the feeling of water rushing past you beneath our table (The only way to describe it is to imagine your feet in a whirlpool bath while you eat). But once you got used to it it was amazing. I even saw all these small coy and other tropical fish swimming near my feet.
Even though there was this waterfall spilling hundreds of gallons of crystal clear water just 100 yards away it was so peaceful. The view was amazing.
Now I can say... I didn't just eat near a waterfall, I ate IN a waterfall!!
