I would get no sleep with 2 snoring dogs and a snoring husband if we all shared a bedroom, so my 2 babys sleep right outside our bedroom door curled up together on a doggie bed. We keep our bedroom door open (usually). A couple of months ago we discovered our older pup who is now a year old is a midnight thief, so we keep them out of trouble with baby gates at the top of the stairs and one at our bedroom door! He would go into the trash, get up on counters, everything was game after we were fast asleep! As for going potty, after our little one was about three months old we havent had a single incident, but we never crate trained, instead we paper trained in our master bathroom with a baby gate so she could see us in bed. And lots of big fluffy toys and blankets in a really low wicker basket was her bed so she stayed pretty neat overnight.
