Where can an aggressive dog get a little exercise?

Over the years, Bob, my eight year old Boxer, has gradually become so aggressive when strange dogs and people approach us that now we only go on walks in remote places or where there is great sight distance so we can avoid people and dogs coming toward us. He is okay one on one with other dogs as long as the initial meeting is carefully planned out, so I recently decided to get a small female boxer. She is an angel. She plays with him all the time in my backyard and makes him tired. And, I am once again a happy member of the human/dog society taking Maddie, my new little girl on walks around the neighborhood and to the dog park. We are meeting lots of new people.

Even though I have a fenced back yard, Bob rarely gets to really run around and get the exercise he needs, even with Maddie playing with him. I have looked through the forums on this subject and the one good suggestion I found was getting a treadmill. But, there must be other places I'm not thinking of. Does anyone have other suggestions for places to go. I've tried tennis courts and fenced playfields at schools but usually get the evil eye from people. Thanks.

I can't offer any suggestions I'm afraid, as I have the exact same problem!

Garvin is as lazy as a rock though, so he doesn't need much exercise ;)

I hear ya-my girl is dog aggressive as well. We have to pick our spots carefully. I have gone to cemetaries and, in the winter, golf courses. The summer is harder as more people are about. I walked a few places without her just to see and found a couple where i rarely see anyone so we go there. You might try that. Walking with your girl and leaving him home to check places out first. I would take my friendly boy and walk around and that is how I found a couple of places that no one seems to go. I look for places where I can see far and wide if anyone is approaching. I found an abandoned apple farm that is up for sale but for now n one is ever around and it is huge so she can run :) If they sell it I will cry! I am always vigilant though as you never know when someone will"discover" your spot. Good luck

I have the same problem with Violet. I bought a bike so that she can get exercise. I taught her to run next to the bike.

We have the same problem with Trucker. Are you talking off leash exercise? I haven’t been brave enough to allow that but for leashed exercise we go to big parks & fields during “off” hours when there is no one around. We also have done the cemetery thing but I feel sort of weird each time.

If anyone has better suggestions I’d love to read them because I know Trucker would enjoy getting out more.
