What's your Boxer's Route?

Wilson has a set "Boxer Burn" route that he loves to do everyday. He loves to run round the dining room table (even when there is stuff in the way) then over to the living room and round/under the coffee table. One night while he was "burning" I decided to move the coffee table to the side, out of the way, for more running room and less chance of crashing (we live in an apartment). I moved it by the window, but Wilson just continued to go underneath and around it! It was so funny 'cause he made the point to do that everytime! So now I leave everything the way it is for him, cause that's how he likes it. :p

So how about your Boxers? What's their "Boxer Burn" route?

 That's cute!! The "burn" causes me to stop right where I'm standing and watch until it's over, because if I'm in Grunt's route pattern, I'd rather him burn around me than knock me over. We live in a condo so he's got to make the most of it in a small area. He usually starts in the living room and builds up momentum, runs under the dining room table, quick turn into the hall, then into his bedroom/our computer room/den, then a mad dash back, retracing back into the living room, etc., etc., etc. He does this about 6 - 7 times, then does this funny tip-toe run (to keep from sliding on the vinyl floor) into the kitchen to his water dish. It's amazing, he's never knocked anything over or run into anything. It cracks me up every time he does his boxer burn!

Our house was actually built with a Boxer Burn Route. Funny how we didn't realize it until we got Carley. Anyway, we've got a double entry staircase, one stairway goes up from the living room and one stairway comes out into the kitchen/breakfast/familyroom area. She usually starts by jumping down from the recliner (after one of her many naps) in the family room, shoots off up the stairs in the kitchen, flys down into the living room, across the (white! oh no!!!) couch, through the formal dining room, through the doorway back into the kitchen and up the stairs again. She'll do this non-stop 8 or 9 times in about a minute while I stand by making sure to stay clear of the track. Same route, right turns only, every time!

Samson has no room for burns in the house, unfortunately- but we are working on that... Outside though, he will go to the bathroom in the back woods, and then run out of the woods and around in circles in the backyard, then through the driveway and into the front yard, where he will run a couple circles and then lay down to let us know hes done.

Simba isn't able to do burns in the house either. I have all hardwood floors so it's a little slippery for him. But he loves to do it in the backyard. I'm now starting to see a worn pattern in the grass. After awhile I'll have a little track in my backyard. :)

Yeah, Willis is an outside burner too... he does figure 8s from one end of the yard to the other, NARROWLY missing the fence each time and sometimes circling around the tree... he always runs up the hill in our yard, and on to the deck for the added burn. Goofy boxers :D

Boru does them in the living room mostly. He seems to lose momentem if he leaves whatever room I'm in. It goes like this.. starts in dogbed, grab a toy, race around living room, stop to pose in front of curio cabinet mirror, helicopter spins, living room laps, and back to dogbed for the big finish, a belly flop, drop toy, grin and big sigh. lovicon I LOVE this dog :D

Although it's not our land the ponies at the back of us kindly condescend to us using their paddocks (qiute a few acres) as our backyard. Cinda can't burn around the house either, but has the joy of open spaces and rolling hills to zoom around to her hearts content. I too love to stand and watch her go wild, laughing at the sheer joy on her doggy face. She especially does this after having done her mornings' number twos'. Must give her more energy or something! She zig-zags around at a great rate and then stops on a dime with this suspicious look on her face waiting for me to sneak up on her and pounce, then she's off like the wind just out of reach until the next screeching stop and the same funny look.
