Lucy Annabel's AKC name is . . . Lucy Annabel. Actually these days she is U-CD Lucy Annabel CD, CGC, TT, TDI, but I guess I never bothered with a fancy name because I knew she wasn't going to be shown. So she is my Luce-Goose, or Lucy Annabel when she's in trouble and I have to use her middle name as well . . .

Mine's full of double meanings, take a look and follow if you can:

Broussard= Dam's name is Broussard's Sascha, Broussard is also my mother's maiden name, along with my paternal grandmother's maiden name. Also my first recorded ancestor who came over from France to live here in Louisiana was a Broussard.

Beausoleil= Literally in french translated means "beautiful sun," and his "call name" Beau means handsome. But, also as I said before, my first ancestor to come over from France's last name was Broussard, but his first name was Beausoleil! Beausoleil Broussard.

Finally...

des Chiens= "of all dogs" in french.

So finally, "Beau" means he's just a good looking dog, don't you think? :p

Mine are not very original...

Pénéloppe name is Boxy Pénéloppe Maggie, Boxy is the name of where she come from, Pénéloppe is the name I choose for her because she has a very distinct P mark on her neck, and Maggie is her mother's name.

Igor is Eric Del Diablo, Del Diablo is the name of the kennel, Eric is because it's the litter five born from this breeder, so all the puppies names start by E, the letter five of the alphabet. The breeder was calling him Rikki, but it was sounding to much to me like Ricki Martin (and it's not my king of music!) so we name him Igor, as the breeder that import him is from Russia (and my boyfriend loves hockey!)

Is it usual here to name the puppies after the number of the litter or it's just in Europe that they do that?

My boy's AKC name is Semper Fi Stealing Home

Semper Fi is the kennel name. Semper Fi is Marine speak for Semper Fidaleus [sic] meaning "Always Faithful," perfect for a Boxer, eh?

Stealing Home is to tie in his call name of Maddux. My husband came up with Maddux after my favorite pitcher, Greg Maddux. Chris is also a huge Braves fan. I really wanted a pitcher type name but, unfortunately, they all sound negative. Semper Fi No Hitter. Semper Fi Strike Out.
