At least once a week in the morning after he goes out and drinks water - he vomits. It's usually just the water that he drank and left over kibble from last night's dinner. Nothing weird looking.

I told my vet and she said it is normal for dogs to vomit evert now and then (huh? - doesn't sound right to me).

Anyone else experience this? What could it be?

By the way he doesn't mope around at all - he is alway wiggling his little butt!

Not sure but my thought was is he drinking a LOT before the times he vomits? Does he have water out all the time or are these the only times (when he's outside) he can get water so he drinks tons and it upsets him? Once, our Roscoe had been out playing pretty hard, came in and drank a lot lot lot of water and most of it came back up with a little kibble. Usually he just has a few sips here and there. If he doesn't always have access to water during the day, he might be gorging himself on it thinking he won't get a chance for a long time. Just a thought, hope he's doing okay!

My dog will vomit every now and then, and I am not sure why. It is not a frequent thing. My guess is she gets into something outside she shouldn't and it ends up coming up in the house! Actually, I clean up more cat hairball messes than dog messes.:(

My 5 yo n. male used to do that. Just pass his kibbles every once in a while. My vet at the time also said the same as yours. Then my dog became sick and was throwing up and had diarriah. To make a long story short, I took his blood test results to another vet and he was diagnosed with pancreatits. Switched his food to Hills W/D canine and never looked back. He is the picture of good health. Doesn't throw up at all now (knock on wood). I hope this helps you. When in doubt have a blood test. I don't agree that dogs throw up with out a good reason for it.

Lou throws up sometimes when he hasn't eatin in a longer period than usual. Every once in a while he gets in a no eat mode and then throws up white foam. After he eats he's okay though. That might be the problem. Asking a vet can't hurt though.

Shaq used to throw up once a week then it became more often. When he started throwing up white mucus ( a sign of dehydration) that was the last straw for me. I knew that something was wrong, but the doctors could not pin point it. First signs were drinking a ton of water and then peeing ALOT! We went to have him neutered at 6mo and decided to do the blood panel. The results showed that there was something wrong with his kidneys. He was diagnosed with Kidney disease about 2 weeks ago. If you have not already done it, have a blood test done to see if there are any weird things going on with is BUN or Creatinine levels. Always better to be safe than sorry! Hope he is feeling better. I know how you feel when you think it is not right and the doctor tells you it is normal. This had been going on since he was 4mo old, he is now almost 8mo. AGGH! Good Luck!
