I didn't see a choice for just plain happy and hyper

I agree! That's Mickey. He's always happy and full of energy, except after a day at the beach, when he falls asleep in dad's lap on the way home! Not much makes him nervous. Since he's turned 8 months old he thinks he's invincible and NOTHING is scary to him!

Lou's laid back when we're at home alone or if he's tired. But as soon as he sees someone else or goes somewhere, he goes nuts!!foolicon He usually calms down as soon as he gets enough attention, but when he's excited he's CRAZY! He's never seems very nervous though- just excited.

All about age ..

Niko is sooo laid back. She is of course paying attention to everything around her. She will jump up and check on any noise (she has two skin sisters) anyone coming up the walk etc.. she will even 'just hang out' while we are at Boxer Bashes .. but then all the time she is just like a new puppy (she is 6yrs) getting and nibbling us.. chasing her babies, wanting us to chase her etc ...

She never stops and then she spends time at your (or anyones) feet!

Rowdy is very protective of me. He rarely leaves my side, even off leash. At bashes, he doesn't play with the other boxers much.

This is a good post!

Subi is really funny. She is great with Kids and people, will run right up to them and shake her little bum bum and give lots of kisses. And she is good with other dogs AS long as she is not around me. if she is in front of me and a dog comes over she starts to growl, so she is a little protective of her mommy.
Bailey is the opposite, she is very head shy and timid with new people and/or outside our house. She literally shakes, i think it is because she was in 4 homes total when we got her at 6 months and probably one of the homes beat her. but in the house she is great, she will run up and give kisses and does the kidney bean dance. but she has also picked up subi's bad habit of being a little to protective of mommy and growling at other dog when she is in front of me.
I wouldnt trade them in for anything though. They are the best!!!

Loved your message about Subi & Bailey. Wish I could "Test" my Hera on the little kids across the street. Know boxers are known for their understanding with kids & you are very lucky that Subi has the opportunity to prove herself. Isn't it too bad that people without dogs have such fear when it comes to their kids. 'Course I do understand that, but..... Thank heavens you found Bailey & gave her such a good home. She will come around & not be so afraid. She is one lucky boxer! Enjoy your babies. Hera's mom.

*blush* :)
Thank you so much for the compliments, they truly mean a lot. I will never be able to put into words the love i have for Subi and Bailey.
I dont know what it is about kids but when i take Subi and Bailey to the dog park and there is a little kid that comes in, SUbi will literall RUNNN to the child and shake her butt. she LOVES kids. I think it is because when we first got her we took her EVERYWHERE except for work, grocery store etc etc. but if i went to a friend or family's house she went with me and i have 4 nephews and a niece that are all under 8. so she has always been exposed to them. With Bailey pat and i got a lot more lax. it is easier to ask someone if you can bring 1 of your dogs but both is pushing it. and i always feel bad if i dont take them both because i am afraid the other will go and tell on me and make the one that was left out jealous, so i just dont put myself in the position to get in trouble :)
Subi has had her feelings hurt though, pat and i took subi and bailey to an adopt a thon with the rescue and there was this little boy, and he came over by subi but wouldnt touch her, and poor little subi is shaking her butt and trying to get his attention and he wouldnt do anything and she started to whine, i told him it was ok and that she loves kids but he still wouldnt touch her. i felt so bad for subi, i wanted to yell at the kid to move away and get away from my dog (i was just protecting subi's feelings :) ) but i didnt i just kept my mouth shut and distracted subi with treats.
ohh well the kids loss for not meeting a truly awesome dog :) yes i am partial.
Bailey will eventually come around, it will just take time and for her to realize that she is not going anywhere. time and security is what she needs.

Thanks sooo much Hera!!! and i am very glad that you are a part of BW :)

If Dixie were any more laid back, I might be afraid she were dead! Sure, she gets excited when we come home and the likes, but boy does she break the boxer rules! Her real grandma (original owner's mother...we adopted her about three weeks ago) said she would just look at her occasionally and offer her a Prozac because she has such a sad, floppy face and is so laid back. :)
