What tricks do your boxers know?

rocky is so cute. he can do the basics but my favorite is "mama kiss" the touch of the boxer nose to my lips with no tongue. ha ha

rocky also does "touch" if you hold your hand out he will touch it with his nose. i have tried to teach him to roll over but no dice. i can get him to lay on his side and that is it.

some of the tricks i have read so far are so cute. wish rocky could learn to do them, but i think his main concern is being rocky. ha ha

Dutch won't roll over either I gave up trying and just said to heck with it. I wonder if it's hard for some of them to do because of there big chests? hmmm so many cute tricks I'm jealous b/c Dutch will only do the basics,but with all these good ideas I think I'll start trying to teach him again... the go to bed trick would be really handy..

Charlie Paper knows the basics, "sit" "down" "shake" "stay". He also knows "give me kisses" and he'll kiss whoever I tell him too. We've been working on "bang" (play dead) and he likes that one, also "roll over". It's cute cause he'll get stuck in the middle of rolling over, and he'll woo-woo. He also knows "speak" and "cover" which is how I get him to crawl on his belly. I'm trying to figure out how to teach him to bow, but we haven't really worked on that one yet, we're still trying to master "roll over" and "bang".

we taught our girl, Dutch, to roll over using her favorite treats. We hold them tight and let her smell them in our hand, then move your had back over her shoulder and over her back <his in your case!> his head will follow, and he'll roll over... still working on her going all the way and ending up on her feet, but it's going well! Our Dutch is only 14 weeks old and knows sit stay lay down shake, other paw and roll over. We are having so much fun with training! Good luck!

Sophie does a few tricks, but it really seems to humiliate her! She gives this big huff-puff, snort thing when we ask her to do something. (Of course, with a small treat in our hand) She will do the usuals, sit, stay, speak, sing, roll-over, play dead, (I hate the name of that one) do circles, shake hands, stick feet, (on her back with her legs straight in the air) git mommy, git daddy, (come and gently grab our hand) follows the tractor and wagon, helping Daddy clean the ditches of trash, (she actually picks up trash and brings it to Dad) she can fetch, although she is stingy with giving back, she can play frisbee, soccer, (well, we call it soccer anyway). Right now Daddy is working on the lay down, which she does, then lays a treat in front of her and tries to get her to wait till she gets the ok to eat it. This could be helpful if and when your baby goes to eat something that could be harmful. Sophie is our only child here at home, so she gets our full attention. Normally, she doesn't get too far away from us, she likes us within eye-sight. We do play hide and seek sometimes and that sets her in a frenzy. If we are all outside, and one of us comes in, she will sit at the door and wait till we return outside.

This is a great thread! So far at 7 mths, I have taught Joey, sit, down, off, shake, other paw, stay, wait, leave it, drop it, and over. He also knows to jump in his bed when I say so. Not that they are tricks but he sure knows the words 'bath' and 'hungry' too. LOL I can ask if he wants a bath and he will bolt for the tub...just wont jump in so I am heaving his 50lb booty in there. When we are outside and I take him off of his cable to bring him in, I can ask him if he's hungry and he makes a bee line for the door and stands and waits for me. Then he jumps right in his crate and waits for the bowl. Sometimes he will follow me around the house and when I look at him, he will start to walk away, looking over his shoulder to see if I am watching. He will then stand inside is crate and stare at me. I ask him 'what?' and he will look up at the treat jar on the counter. He also knows that when we get a glass out of the cabinet, that we will be getting ice too and MUST have a piece. Also knows the words 'peanut butter' for his kong. What a stinker. They are so smart some times.

Shakira can sit, shake, high five, lay down, beg, play dead when you say oh poor little boxer puppy is dead, she can speak, play hide-and-seek with the kids, go find things whatever you tell her to find she will go find it, she can also whisper. I taught her to whisper because when she wants a treat she will speak but her bark was so loud it would wake the children so I taught her to whisper, it is so cute, she throws her head back and moves her mouth like she is barking but nothing comes out, now she goes into her crate and whispers the whole time we are having dinner just to get a bite. I can't think of anymore right now, she knows alot of tricks.

Jada knows, sit, down, stand, stay(up to ten minutes, with no visual contact of me), drop it, leave it, walk with me, heel, whats up(modern form of shake, like giving dap), tell me about it(speak). When in the car she knows, get in your seat(passenger seat) or get in the back. she also knows jump it(she jumps the baby gate, trying to get her to generalize and jump anything i want her to, she is learning to jump thru a hoola-hoop only worked a couple days on it though.

My girfriend and I have a 8 month old female brindle. She can sit, come, stay, go to crate, jump on command, paw, other paw, kiss, leave, drop (toy out of her mouth), spin 360, , crawl, circle between my legs, roll over, play dead, sit and stay with a treat just inches in front of her for literally hours till I say OK, keep a treat on her nose till I say OK and she catches it, and a few others.
She is very smart as most boxers are. Were so proud of her.

Maggie ( 15months) does sit, stay, shake both paws, give kisses,lays down, jump up, down, rings the bell to go out,and my favorite--- rings the wind chimes to eat,( in case I forget) go get the frisbie, go get the ball. I was working on singing ( which she did when the phone rang), but no luck yet- it's fun to see out smart boxers really are!!!!
