I thought it would be interesting to know the different tricks that people have taught thier Boxer babies. Of course there is the norm such as sit and stay... But what else is there?

Capone can do the following:

"Sit"
"Stay"
"Stay" w/treat on his nose (Yeah it's mean, but funny!)
"Lay Down"
"Roll Over" on his side (We are trying to teach him Roll Over but he doesn't like it.)
"No" for almost anything, but he also knows if I drop a treat on the floor and say No, then he can't have it until I say Ok.
"Close the Door" Yes he closes our front door if the kids leave it open when they come in. LOL
"Shake"
"Other Paw" We use this when he is shaking and he then gives us the opposite paw.
"Stay Down"
"No Barking" He stops barking, but continues to growl.
"Watch 'em"
"Get the Goose" We have a mean goose that picks on my 7 year old. Capone will chase it away from her when she says that. (Not my goose b/c it would be a dead goose if it were.)

I think that is about it.

Here are some of Dukes my Boxer mix:

Sit, Stay, Down, Down on recall, sit from a down, get the remote, picks things up that I drop, shake, take a bow, wave, speak, speak quietly( soft growl), says mama, ashamed (covers eyes with paws when asked if he is ashamed), knows how to paint. He has some more, but I can't think of them right now. Duchess doesn't really know any tricks- well, excepy for getting storage boxes from under the bed, taking the lid off, and scattering the contents!

Greta can:

sit
stay (this one has taken LOTS of practice & praise!)
down
roll over
shake
other paw
stand up
jump up
high-five (she jumps up & slaps my hand with both paws)
speak (she kind of 'sings' - it's like a really long woo-woo!)
quiet (she'll stop speaking)
drop it (if she's got a toy, she'll drop it for you)

She knows what a lot of things are as well. Her favorite stuffed toy is Sheepie. He's a soft little sheep stuffed animal that squeaks. If you ask her "Where's Sheepie?" she will find wherever he is, pick him up with her mouth, and then bring him to you. She also does this with her "Mean Kittie" toy. Now that I'm thinking about it, I ask her "Greta, are you hungry?" or "Greta, do you want some food" and she runs to the closet where we keep her food.

Man, they are some amazing dogs (Boxers, of course!)

Roxie knows:
sit
down
stay (but if we make her stay for to long she wont come because she looses interest)
roll over (sometimes only to the side other times she rolls over)
speak (loud barking)
quiet speak-we tell her shhh after telling her to speak (small growl and wooing)
shake (both paws)
high five (both paws)
back paws (when cleaning her feet off after being outside she will lift her front and back paws on command)
sit pretty (goes from sitting to standing on hind legs with front paws in the air)
I have been trying to get her to balance a treat and stay but she goes cross eyed and hates it so i gave up (i laugh to hard at her)

Ty can do most of those listed, my favorite is his sit pretty, he hovers on his back legs and since his chest is so big his paws go out to the sides, I'll have to get a picture and once I figure out how to post, I'll share.

Let's see...

sit
stay
paw
down
leave it
drop it
get it/take it
go eat (her favorite!)
off (for the most part)
Kuma go pee
Kuma go potty (#2..hehhee)

Not too shabby for being only 5 months old!!!!

Bailey's best trick, and I didn't even have to teach her, is play deaf. She only likes to show off when other people are around. Just her and I and she listens well.

My collie used to be able to do this, but I haven't tried it yet with Mina. I just figured her snout wasn't long enough to pull it off. LOL!

Mina knows...

sit
stay
up
give paw
give other paw
lay down
play dead

She also knows a few of her toys by name. "boney", "chicken", "jo jo ice cream". :)
