should I use in Madison's Kong? I don't know if I should go with the low fat, low sodium or low sugar... so many different kinds out there. She currently is on just regular peanut butter because that’s what I had in the cupboard

Creamy Jif

I use a little creamy Jif in Shiva & Kali's kongs - with a couple dog treats stuck in there.

Lowfat is probably a good idea - that never occurred to me.

It’s not so much the fat content you need to worry about - it's the sugar and sodium, and all brands like Jif and Skippy are loaded with both. They do have "Simply Jif" which has lower sugar and sodium content. But I buy organic salt free Peanut Butter at my local health food store (I personally don’t like it but Owen LOVES it ;)) – there is 1 ingredient in it, peanuts, compared to all the additives in the popular store bought brands – just look at the ingredient list and you’ll see what I mean. Though is can be messier to put in Kongs b/c it doesn’t have all those additives/preservatives in it to keep the oil from separating so it’s runnier but its much healthier for them.
If you don’t have access to something like that then I would get the low sodium/low sugar PB, something like Simply Jif.

Thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can find when I go to the supermarket. Madison just loves peanut butter. I layer her food (Canidae) and peanut butter in her Kong. This has been the treat that has made crating her so easy. SHe practally drags me back into the house when we she is done going potty so she can get into her crate to get her Kong!

Gotta be CREAMY!

I buy the 'store brand' peanut butter because it is cheaper and typically has less sugar and salt than the national brands. I have also used the natural kind that you have to stir but I always make too much mess with it and wind up wearing half the jar before I ever get any scooped out.

The only requirement is that it's CREAMY! Beasley doesn't like the crunchy...he will pick the chunks out of his Kong and spit them out. Silly pup...

Kraft has a new all natural one out too. I bought some the other day and the check out girl was really enthusiastic about it. She said that it tasted really good etc. The look on her face was pretty funny when I told her it was for my dog

WWWHHHAHAAATTT??
i guess creamy jif in america isnt the bathroom cleaner that it is in the uk then!!!!!

i use low salt low sugar in baileys kong. i tend not to use too much..sometimes a glob at the bottom, kibble and fruit/ver puree/soft cheese/ham and then sealed with pb at the top. i imagine it cant be that good but i might be worng..he sure loves it and i suspect it has something to do with his sparklingly shinny coat (again..might be wrong...it has been known!)
