They must be two to complete health testing. Please do a search on this sensitive subject

No he isn't old enough. As Maniago stated, the proper health teasting for hips, thyroid and heart as well as other testing cannot be completed until the age of 2. These are not the same as having your vet say he is healthy. It is important NOT to breed any boxers (or dogs really) unless the proper testing has been done because it can and DOES get passed on to the offspring. Unless your dog has been evluated by professionals, either in the showring or by other ethical and responsible breeders or judges, and found to be of excellent breed standard AND passes the expensive health testing, then he really should not be bred ever. The bitch also needs this health testing and evaluation done. As was mentioned, please do a search on this subject and realize that your beloved pet could be changed forever should he be used for breeding, and that is only one aspect. Breeding healthy dogs with great temperaments and that meet breed standard is SO much more than letting a bitch and dog get together and have puppies.

use the SEARCH button. Share w/ the bitch's owners all the useful info you've found here, better yet, direct them to the site. :) Breeding should ONLY be done to better the breed. any other reason is not a good one.
