Completely Boxer Crazy
What a great thread!

I have made many changes in my life within the past 2 years. I met my husband. We moved from the city to a beautiful place in the country. We just bought 22 acres this week (mostly rolling scenic pasture this time) and are moving again. This new piece of land is a dream. Once we build our house there I will be in heaven, not that I don't feel that way now. We got our first boxer, Samson, and now we have 3. We got 3 horses which has been my lifetime dream. I could go on and on. I love being a country person. I have met so many dear sweet people. I love knowing someone everywhere I go...seeing smiles from strangers, etc... .

Now I'll answer the question that was asked (smile)!

What have my boxers brought into my life? Well...a lot of love. I believe that they have taught me to relax more. I truly enjoy every moment I have with them. I talk about them when I am away from home, just like when I had small children. When I am with the boxer babies I laugh, love, and feel a lot of peace. Business owners ask us to bring Samson into their offices, they love him too. They always ask about our little "boxer family." It's wonderful! I hope to have a boxer until the day I die. The warmth and love that pour from them cannot be surpassed.

How is that for being mushy? HA!!!

Well for one these 2 are bringing out my motherly instincts & have made me crave a skinkid.... <<<hit to BF>>>;)
I never realized I could love 'just a dog' so much & laugh so hard. They have taught me not to be so anal about things i.e. if a pillow gets chewed up - buy a new one; a little dog hair never killed anyone; and teeth marks on chairs, walls, pens, etc really does add character ;)

Great Thread! Evander is our first dog as adults as well. So he has taught all kinds of things, getting up at 6:00am on the weekends is okay, because we know that we can take a nap after we play ball in the yard!

He also taught me that I should no longer make fun of my friends who spoil thier dogs. He has prepared me for motherhood, but most of all he has taught me about love at first sight, unconditional love and that no matter how frustrating it may be to come home and find my couch chewed all he has to do is give me that soulfood, "I'm sorry mom" look and I melt!

Having Evander has been a wonderful experience for us!

Super Boxer
We've had Trinity for about 3 1/2 months now, since she was 10 weeks old and she has taught my tons, not only about myself but about my husband.

What she's taught me about myself...

How patient I really am
How to not think of myself all the time
That no cleaning or cooking is more important that playing with her
How to love someone unconditionally
What type of mom I'll be
How I can give up everything in order to make her happy

What's she taught me about my husband...

What type of dad he'll be
How much he worries about her when he's not home
He's a sucker for those puppy dog eyes!
How much he loves to act like a kid

I have always had dogs but Max is my first indoor dog. Since
we were unable after years of trying to have skin kids Max has
given me the insight of having a kid. He has brought so much
joy to our lives and I am constantly worrying when I have to
leave him. Yes he has taught me that the trivial things in life
just aren't important. That nothing means more than the family
he has given us. We have bonded so deeply I feel he is a part
of me. I have no greater joy than when I get home from work
and there he is with his wigglebum waiting. I have never been
so happy with any pet I have ever had and it's all because of
this crazy, silly, cuttest in the world smush face.
I love you Max!

My husband and I got married in April 98 and started building a house in May, by October we were barely speaking and talking separation. We moved in our house in November and Tyson came into our lives in March. I believe Tyson saved our marriage. He taught us to focus on other things and not just pick on each other. With Tyson we truly became a family. Five years later we now have Kyzar. Kyzar has taught me to have lots and lots and lots of patience. That boy is going to hang me. :D
They have both taught me that a king size bed in NOT big enough.:p

Patience, patience, patience is what my dogs have taught me! And the fact that I need them as much (or more) as they need me!lovicon

I have learned that I can totally control my not so good "gag" reflexes when it comes down to it! And that you should never buy an Ivory colored rug!!! (Duh hubby) Even if you don't have a dog at the time!

I have learned that I don't care what I look like in the wee hours of the morning. And you will be surprised who you will find out side at 3:30 in the morning in their jammies!! And they don't care what they look like either.

I have learned what unconditional love is!! No matter what she destroys, or chews or eats. I love her always and no matter what!!

2. No matter how old you ore, your still a big kid.
3. Lounging around all day is ok, as long as you have someone to cuddle with.
4. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.
