What does it mean???

I know I'm going to sound stupid once I ask this but I have to. I've read about training my puppy and in all the sources that I've read from I've learned that it is important to teach my dog to "heel," the only problem is I don't even know what heel means. How can I teach my dog to heel when I can't even to it myself? Can anyone help me out and describe what it means?:confused:

Getting a dog to 'heel' means that the dog is walking right beside you at your heels (with a relaxed leash).
