Sounds great! I would love this! I have my BS in Psyc and initially planned to go further in psychology but I had a few people tell me that the MSW and/or LCSW would benefit me more in the areas I was wanting to work in, so I altered my plans a bit...just waiting on pins and needles to see if I have been accepted to the MSW program still! There is a newly opened state hospital nearby that serves to house California's violent sexual offenders and I am thinking about trying to get hired on there in some capacity if I am not accepted into school. I can go thru their psych tech program rather quickly--at least it'd get me in the door....

In Massachusetts al least, there is a lot of opportunity for advancement once you get your foot in the door. Are you more interested in the clinical/therapy side of things, or in being a front line worker? In my program they are actually called child care workers. They are able to move on to supervisory and eventually administrative positions. I've never worked with adult offenders, only juveniles. Girls are my favorite!!

I am a stay home mommy. I do volunteer work at a couple places too, but have not had a "paid" job in a little over two years. I think I will go back to work somewhere PT in the fall.... DH pays the bills as a "motoring advisor" for MINI Cooper/BMW.

I'm a event decorater. I go out to events and fill balloons and decorate with them. Big job is 10,000 balloon drop and a small job is a few hundred. I freelance for 7 decoraters and been doing this for 20 years. People walk in the room and just stand there and smile. We hand tie all the balloons. DH is the midwest sales manager for Pioneer Balloon Co. They manufacter the balloons.

I am a registered dental hygienist. I get to clean all the crap out of everyones mouth. I love my job. I am considering going back to college for my BA so that I can be a drug rep, hopefully in the dental field.

DH is a detention officer for the local sheriffs department. He works at the jail booking in all the criminals. He plans on going to the road soon.

Everyone has exciting jobs except me but I'll tell you all what I do anyway.

I was a stay at home mom for 5.5 years and then just recently went back to work PT working at a car repair shop and also sell cars. I work in the office and there is a mechanic that works there also. Basically there isn't much work to do so we sit around and BS most of the time. I don't really make much, but it gives me some extra spending $$ for my kids. DH is a truck driver but only drives local right now.
Not too exciting.

I am a medical assistant in an Internal Medicine office. Work with one of the best doctors in town. Been there for almost two years. Worked at an ENT practice for four years before that. Also worked with the doctors there, went to the OR to help with surgery, and was certified in the testing and treatment of allergies. Before that, worked in Labor and Delivery assisting with C-sections. Luckily the same company owns all of these so I have been with the same company since 1999. I am really happy where I am now. The regular Doctors are not near as high maintenance as Surgeons.

That is so true--how can people walk around with that junk in their mouths for all those years?? Seriously that is just major EWWW and I work on teeth but that grosses me out as bad as dentures sometimes. I like to see nice, pretty pearly whites :D

I'm an Ultrasonographer, and if I had a dollar for every male patient that asked me if he's having a boy or a girl while I am looking at his liver, gallbladder and kidneys, I'd have enough money to feed my dogs all year!!!!
