I just bought Wellness today. I plan to switch Brutus over from the low quality the breeder had him on. How long should the transition take?

Whenever I switch I usually do it over a 5-7 day period and my guy has an extremely sensitive stomach.

I use the wellness super puppy mix. The breeder was feeding purina pro plan chicken and rice, but i saw it wasn't a great rating on dogfoodanalysis.com. The breeder gave us a zip lock back to take with us and I was planning on mixing half and half over a few days to transition Aspen but forgot the bag at my gf's mom's house when we headed back home. Aspen has had no problem with an immediate transition to the wellness brand. She likes it a lot more when I put some warm water with it over just plain dry (although she still eats it all, just takes longer). I would say try to go directly to it if your pup can handle it. I also give Aspen a little yogurt with live culture and active culture (i heard it is good for the stomach & intestine) That may of had something to do with the direct transition, but dont hold me to it :)

I Just started using Nutrisource Supper Premium after the change in Canidae. I can’t get anything else better here. Oliver has so much gas that I would like to try home cooked.

Some of the premium brands of food have websites that have a delaer locator, so you could look for a dealer of a brand that you would like to try for your dogs. Where are you located in Minnesota?

I feed Lola The Honest Kitchen. She gets Embark (turkey) for breakfast and Force (chicken) for dinner. Both are grain free and her digestive issues have drastically improved since she's been on this food (about 2 years now). She's still gassy but nowhere near as bad as when I fed high qualify kibble and canned. I add various "add-ins" to The Honest Kitchen for extra variety such as cottage cheese, yogurt, boiled chicken or canned fish (sardines and salmon). She looks great on this food and I like the fact that it's produced in a facility that makes human food as well.
