I read the chit chat and boxer ring daily. I dont always have time to make replies but I have often wondered what people look like and what do they do for a living. I am glad I caught this thread.

I work for the state of Wisconsin. I am a Program Assistant. I wear many hats. The best part of my job is that I am off most of the summer. When I am busy with work I am swamped and then it is nothing. So I spend my summers hanging out with my baby Brit and riding motorcycle with Hubby Dick.

Hubby Dick is a retired Railroad Conductor. He worked on the rails for 43 years! He was offered an early retirement and retired Jan. 1 this year. I am very happy for him. He is a new man.
He always accused me of spoiling the dog. He is a lot worse than me! McDonalds every day!

I have just re-entered the workforce again after 2 years at home with the kids. I am a teacher's aide. The main part of my job is to work one on one with 2 different "troubled" children. It's certainly challenging, and although it's a bit sad and frustrating at times, it feels worthwhile. There's a REASON for me to be there, other than the paycheck.

I am a full time legal/criminal justice student.
I was laid off from the Hi-Tech semiconductor world (thank the lord) last June, took the summer off and did some soul searching and realized I haven't been doing what I've wanted to do which was go to school and study law so that is what I am doing now and in a year from now I plan to be either a paralegal or work for the fed's as an FBI agent.
I have spent the last 9 months home during the day with my furchild, walking, going to the parks, the beach and playing with friends and going to school at night.

I am also a stay at home mom. I have two kids 30 months and 20 months so they keep me on my toes, and now with the furbaby it is 3x the fun. I have been thinking about taking online courses for accounting and eventually getting my CPA but who knows. I would just like a job where I could work from home and set my own hours. I have at least 2 years before T-man heads off to school, so maybe I will make some headway towards my degree by then. Hubby is a tester for the phone co.

Well, I returned to college (1997) after my divorce and took a 2 year computer programming course....ONE course was in internet/html....and my work placement ended up being a web design job....and that's what I'm doing still (all based on one course, funny how things turn out sometimes!) My last two jobs have been working exclusively on intranet sites....so I have nothing to show! Prior to my return to school, I work 10+ years in various clerical jobs - from secretary to payroll/personnel.

And YES! it was hard going back to school in my 30s! The first semester were filled with some 'intro programming courses' .... and for me THEY WERE INTRO!!! but for the vast majority of the late teens....it was just review from all the programming they took in highschool!!! (when I was in highschool, we thought we were pretty high tech cause we moved from manual to electric typewriters in our senior year!!)

Ok my official title at the moment is a Telemarketer. I hate that name. I work for a college and call potential students and try to get them to come in for a campus tour. The good thing is these are students who have requested information on the school so it isn't like calling names out of a phone book.

I'm also a professional student I have decided I can never know too much. :D
