So I have been wanting to ask people what are some ridiculous things your boxer is afraid of?? Toots has to be the weirdest.. As I type this.. she is barking at my fiance while hes trying on some of his older brother's hats.. all of her hair is raised! But of course if I turn the vaccum on and pull the hose out she will sit there and play with the hose for HOURS!!! She is also not afraid of the weed wacker.. but scared to death of a standing fan.

PLEASE tell me some of your boxer's phobias!

I don't know if it is necessarily a phobia but everytime I turn the hairdryer on to dry my hair, little Bella will come at my feet and bark and bark at the hairdryer. The only time she does not do it is when she is in her crate.

She is pretty brave otherwise - brooms do tend to get her fired up but I think that is more because she wants to play with it then our of fear.

My first Boxer, Star, was afraid of balloons. It was great in one way becuase when we put in new carpet in the formal living and dining rooms, we just put a balloon at the edge of the carpet to train her not to go in those rooms. Thor doesn't like thunder. (I know. It's ironic considering he named for the norse God of Thunder. lol) If the storm is particularly close I have to take him to the basement where the noise is a bit muffled. Arabella doesn't really have any phobias.

Turtles. Yep. Turtles. They have found a few in the backyard and they bark like crazy at them. When I pick them up to put them on the other side of the fence....they run. I offered to let them sniff one, and they took off!! Oh..and Harvey was afraid of my bro-in-laws motorcycle helmet the other day....not when it was on his head though, but when it was on the bar.

Aniah is very shy around people she doesn't know....if Cody is around she handles it better...if he is not she hides behind my legs. Other than that she is not a skittish little thing at all. Cody on the other hand is my big pansy boy. Brooms terrify him (they tend to fall lots and make loud noises). He had a run in with a dishwasher a few years ago and so they scare him horribly now. He hates when we put a new trash liner in because I shake it out and the noise is very scary to him. Pretty much any sudden movement accompanied by a loud noise sends Cody running for cover ears back and nub tucked.

As for ABBY, it has to be thunder. It absolutely terrifies her. She's real skiddish about a lot of other things, too. But thunder, I can just mention the word and she gets scared. I've never seen a dog like her.

Diesel is afraid of grates in the ground, like storm grates. He absolutely refuses to walk over them and the fiancé usually end up carrying him. He's also afraid of fire and knives which really makes me concerned for his background! Masks terrify him as well but I imagine that makes sense!

Our boxer is terrified of balloons! She cowers whenever there is one in the room. She also has these weird fears of anything she's not sure what it is. She got a new toy for her birthday and refused to play with it if we were holding it, she'd just run away to another room. Also, anytime my husband is practicing his golf swing in the back yard she is barking and trying to attack the golf club. Overall everyday we discover another irrational fear! But, we love her!

Caney Creek

Boxer Insane
Caney is afraid of... closing lids. Especially if they make noise, but really just anything that closes from the top. Weird, I know. She runs from empty pizza boxes, the BRITA pitcher (she hates when the lid closes after I fill it up with water), and even flip-cell phones. It's the craziest thing, we joke that she's scared they're going to pinch her mush

On the other hand, she doesn't give a flip about the vacuum cleaner. She loves to fight with the hose, and even when I vacuum the floors I can push it right up to her nose while she lays on her bed and she could care less. Creek however is a different story...

Lily is afraid of anything that wasn't there yesterday! LOL From the vacuum in the wrong room, to the trash bag just rmoved from the can, to a bag in the yard, to just about anything. She is very leary walking by it and will tuck the nub and run like hell away from it. Don't know why.....she's always been skitttish!
