For some reason, I've noticed when people get older, they get kind of weird about stuff like that. They don't want any intrusions in what they perceive to be their own little world. My mother has her own gripes about why do people have do certain things that bother her - mostly nothing, just stuff that occurs in the daily cycle of liviing. I kind of made a mental note to try not to get that way when I'm older. To never forget what it's like to be young and avoid those "senior citizen" characteristics. Of course, not all older people are like that, for sure, but there are plenty that are!
The street belongs to everyone. As long he he's well behaved, on his leash and you carry your poop bags, walk your dog wherever you like and be proud you have such a noble, loving dog to share your life. When we walk, all the other dogs start up with their yapping, but Scrapper gives not a peep. He just struts along like he knows "Yeah, I'm the bomb!"
