Diva is just over three years old and her list isn't too bad:

Tumour (that turned out to be benign) removed from her side when she was nine months old
Ear infections
Severe allergic reaction to beesting (emergency trip to the vet)
Nose pierced by wire, blood all over her face
Various bad dkin infections and allergic reactions (that seem to be diminishing as she gets older - thank goodness!)
Dog bite (not serious though)

She seems to have had more things wrong with her when she was under 2 years than she has since. Touch wood it stays like that.

I was just thinking about this the other day!

Legend - sprained leg (5 months old)
kennel cough (1 yr old)
UTI (just a couple months ago)
"head shakes" (about 6 mos. ago)

Mazzy - we've only had her since December, only thing so far is broken canine tooth.

Tegan and Owen have been pretty healthy. Here is what we have had to "deal with" over the past years:

Tegan (6 years old):
allergic reaction to a bee sting
spay incontinence
displastic back

Owen (3 years old):
Mange
sensitive tummy

Overall Tegan and Owen have been very healthy dogs (knock on wood).

Wow! I thought my Roxie had gone through a lot!

Roxie has had:

Worms as a pup (no big deal, easily taken care of)
Lump removed from the top of her head (non cancerous but it is back!)
Vaginitis (which we could never find the source of even after surgery and she actually still has some symptoms of once in a while)
Severe demodeptic mange which took a few months to get rid of plus allergic reactions such as hives, etc. with it
Eye surgery to fix a eye lid that rolled under too much
She ate a poisonous plant and I took her to the vet and he gave her a shot which she had a horrible reaction to and her heart almost stopped beating, he had to inject her with that stuff that stimulates the heart (scared the you know what out of me!)
She ran over a plant that had a branch sticking up and got a piece of it embedded into her leg so that had to be removed surgically.

I tease our vet that he should name a wing of the clinic after her since we probably have paid enough in vet bills to have one!

Hooligan was very healthy till his last few years of life. He was born with a grade one-heart mummer due to Sub aortic Stenosis but it never caused him problems in life.

Mange
Ate a beer bottle top after getting into the trash and made himself very sick for several days afterwards till it came back up
Arthritis
Gingival hyperplasia
Seizures (he had 4 spaced out over 3 years we never discovered why)
Kidney Disease
Lymphoma

Konig- pancreatitis, eye injury, and benign cyst on head.

Dozer- spondylosis, benign cyst on foot.

I haven't had too many problems with my boys, I guess I can consider myself lucky.

Holly had in her too short 6 years the following:

mild hip dysplasia in her left hip
moderate hip dysplasia in her right hip
cruciate ligament surgery in both knees (3 yrs apart)
5 or 6 mast cell tumors successfully removed
boxer cardiomyopathy, which she eventually succumbed to.
I would do anything to have her back with us. Fortunately, we now have Molly, who at 5 months, is fit as a fiddle!

Chewy:
worms as a pup which caused him to get really skinny
rough time recovering from neuter surgery
torn third eye-lid caused by another dog
pancreatitis - included two trips to emergency vet & an $850 bill

Emma:
got attacked by the neighbor's fence-jumping dog and had to get a staple in her head and in her ear.
later attacked again, and didn't survive it

Stella:
had fleas as a pup, but we got rid of them

Our pups have had relatively few problems, but I'm in the process of signing them up for health insurance through www.petinsurance.com. Has anyone used this? It looks like a good program - especially for our boxers since they are mischeivious and prone to so many illnesses.

Bailey 41/2 years:
Assorted allergic reactions
Injured knee (wrestling injury)
lymphoma

Lucy 2 1/2 years:
bee sting reaction-looked like Rocky (yo adrianne)

Blake 5 years:
We just got him from rescue 2 wks ago. They cleaned his teeth and cut back his gums (?) Other than that he has suffered no other ailments that I am aware of. (knocking on wood for him)

I'm with Chewy's mom on the Pet Insurance. I dont have it, but will definately look into it. It seems like vet care costs have sky rocketed over the past few years--even the annual exam seems to be a major expense now. It can really put you in a tough spot when you come up against something like lymphoma. Just the initial testing and diagnoses can bankrupt you. (btw I do think the care is worth every penny, it's just a whole lot of pennies!!)
