Took Skully in to see the vet. He has had a growth on his chest. It appeared months ago, and the vet thought it was an infected bug bite, so we did a wait and see thing. It never went away but shrunk a bit. Then last week it puffed up. So now he is scheduled for surgery to remove it. The first opening they have is two weeks away. I hate having to put him through it as he gets very anxious at the vet and hates to be crated. He is going to be so stressed which can't be the best thing for a dog going through surgery. The story I got on him is was abandoned at a vet's office, so you can imagine how scary it will be for him. He actually did so well today, I thought we were making progress. This is just going to set him back. sigh. But I don't like the bump and it has to go. I hope Skully forgives me quickly.

On the day of the procedure maybe they could take him first thing that way there'll be no waiting around and he'll be sleepy afterwards so he'll be more relaxed.. ..
OMG there is never a dull moment with these doggies !!!!

I was talking to my husband last night and we decided to ask that he be sedated as soon as possible after arriving. Hopefully that will relieve some of the stress. I would also request to get him as soon as possible afterwards.

Skully you are going to be fine. I know the vets can be traumatic sometimes. But just remember mom and dad love you very much.

I had a dog aggressive dog and we always asked for the very first appt. that day and mild sedation. They used to let me stay with her until they were ready to take her. So hard when they are anxious. Best of luck to you .
