Mona has a small, smooth flesh colored bump on her muzzle! It doesn't seem to bother her and it isn't getting any bigger or anything. Just curious of anyone else has experienced something similar with their dogs. Although, I'm sure it is nothing to worry about! I would like to know if I can expect her to get more of them, though!

Yep Buster got them bad for a while. They cleared up and I haven't seen one till recently, he got one! They usually go away on their own, but they can get infected to just keep an eye on it!

Oscar has had pimples, and Jasmine is now going through that phase, and has quite a few. You might keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't change. When Oscar was about 1 1/2-2 years old he got a hystiocytoma (sp?) at first it didn't seem to grow so I had no worries about it, but it did end up getting bigger and had to be removed. I don't want to freak you out, I just thought I would bring it to your attention, just so you keep an eye on it. We can never be TOO careful with our precious'.

Great!

Thanks for the feedback you guys! I appriciate it a lot. It could be a pimple, but it isn't red. It's skin colored and smooth. Very strange. I'll make sure and keep an eye on it. Aren't boxers known for skin trouble sometimes? I thought that was true for some reason. She's my first one, so I'm just learning as I go!

Smooth Lump on Muzzle

Neala had one of those on her side. It was about pea size, pink flesh color, and slightly raised. It didn't bleed or scab over or look like anything except an area that had the hair removed. We had 1 vet tell us that it could be a benign skin tumor that young dogs get. She's 2 1/2. Of course we kinda freaked out and had it removed. $400 later, we found out it was just her body's reaction to an insect bit or a vaccine or something. In other words, totally normal. I'd say just keep an eye on it. If the size, shape, or color change, have them take a biopsy or something before spending like we did. Poor little baby has a scar now. The hair is finally growing back. Good luck!

Boxers do have a tendency to get skin and other types of tumors and cancers. If it does concern you, I would definitely show it to the vet. I'd rather be safe than sorry. More than likely, though, it's just a little bump.

Good stuff!

Thanks everybody! Some very intriguing responses. I will make sure and keep an eye on it. I'm not too concerned about it at this point. I'm sure it is just a skin abnormality of some kind, and I am not in any hurry to spend $400 on getting it removed, that's for sure! Any other ideas, keep 'em coming!

One of my dogs has something that sounds exactly like what you are describing, except his is very tiny and on his nose.
I got the vet to look at it a while ago, she poked and looked at it and basically said just to keep an eye on it....

Sounds like acne. Porter has had a bit of it. I would keep an eye on it and mention it to the vet to be sure.
