FYI also unfortunatly this is also used to make stronger dogs for the illegal sport of dog fighting, I have seen some in articles of rescued dogs from there owners....its very sad, and its tatooed in my head everytime I hear of weight pulling this is the first thing to come into my mind...is these poor dogs faces looking at you .....so sweet and innocent...Sorry I'll stop !!!!

I have seen it on TV a few times and most of the dogs seem to really love to pull. All of the dogs seem to be treated well and they were all made to be sucessful. It they couldn't manage to get the sled or trailer over the line, they were given a push over the line.

Unfortunately, you don't know what goes on behind the scene. :(

Hello all! HEy I've been thinking about weight pulling for Rocky, my sister used to do it with her Rottys and they did great! But then again, something tells me Rocky wouldn't go for it, lol. He is happy enough pulling me around when I take hi for his walks

But I have no doubt that Boxers have the ability and strength to weight pull. Of course it takes practice and careful training, but I guess it would all depend on the dog itself.

I've been having my boxer pull me around the block on a skateboard(about 3/4th a mile) for about 6 months now and he loves it. He pretty much will run full speed the whole way and knows the whole route that we go. I've noticed a nice increase in his muscles and also he has a lot more energy from it. I'm not sure of the actual weight he is pulling because pulling my 165lbs isn't the same as when I'm on the skateboard but either way he really likes it.

I am kinda late posting but I will post anyway...

If you sit at home or at the office all day and no exercise, you won't have any muscles building up. But if you exercise, you'll start building up;)
Same with dogs.. If you exercise them enough, they'll start building up. Same with agility, weight pulling, SCH in my opinion.

Krose runs with Baris several times a week. He is very very fit. He won't gain any weight, all muscles. I would research a lot before joining any kind of sports with my dog. Dog's health, physical and mental, is the top priority. Everything else should be fun;) If it isn't, than it isn't sports. I know that from my own swimming experience of 12 years. Goes with my boxer too:)
