We must be crazy

We are about to adopt our third boxer. Long story short, I walked into a friend's friends' house and saw this beautiful brindle bounce at the door. I asked his age and was told "1 year old, why you want him?" Umm yeah...

He's basically a rescue, though by family intervention rather than shelter. Bo was neglected and beaten and before the idiot owner's family saved him, he jumped from a 3 story window and broke off two teeth. He is very shy of men, but not the least bit aggressive. He warmed up to my wife immediately but is still a bit unsure of me-though I did get a few tail waggles and finger kisses. He's a sweetheart and adores the kids in the house he's in now.

Most likely we will get him here next week to meet the man of the house (Cassius) and then let Max out to romp. Hopefully by October first we will have this boy under our roof and let the circus begin!

appicon Yea! I just got my third a few weeks ago. Good for you for taking him in. He will pay you back time and time again. And don't worry, he will come around. My male, Flash is a Hurricane Katrina rescue and was scared of just about anyone and everything, hence the name Flash. You and he will do fine. appicon

Well Bo has been with us for 24 hours now and it seems to be going quite well. He has some trust issues, but is all ready as smitten with us as we are of him. He had a full work day of freedom in the house and didn't disturb a thing-wish I could say the same for Cassius, but thats another story.

The two younger boxers play hard and rest hard and even the old guy gets in on it for a bit.

For training we need to work on "wrong" or "no", "come" and listening to his own name. We are gradually starting to call him Bo-zer as Bo sounds too much like "no" and thats going to be difficult for him.
