I am so sorry for your loss--I definitely know how you feel because I lost my beloved baby to cancer last month. I still call his name when I come home and say goodnight to him every night. I can only tell you that after awhile, when you are feeling lonely for him, the smiles will mix with the tears as you remember what a wonderful friend he was.
I also want another puppy but am hesitant to get another Boxer because of all the health risks. Hwever, when I mentioned this to Waldo's oncologist, she said something that made a lot of sense: despite the sadness and heartache that accompanies the illness of your Boxer, you also experienced the absolute BEST dog in the world. After all, there is no dog better than a Boxer! Thoughts, hugs and prayers to you and your family.
