my daughter ended up with a albino doberman over the summer i posted in other pets about him,he came from a bad place they docked his tail themselves and did his ears so short in a fight crop he was under weight and full of worms and had a staph infection well she got him neutered and everthing else fixed up and we started to look for a home for him a friend of mine said her cousin was interested and he seemed like a good match well this guy moved out of his house in the middle of the night and we had no idia where kane was turned out he took this poor dog with him on the road in a semi , he called me and said kane was not doing good and will i watch him for a few months i got him on thanksgiving day and was in realy good shape but i'm not going to let this guy take him again he is running from child support and i've found out more things that don't match up with all he said before he took kane...so i need help in what to say to this guy if he ever comes back for kane..i don't think he would harm him but his life is to messed up for a dog.i will never place a dog again from now on i'll go threw a rescue

I would explain that the dog is better of with you. After all, wouldn't he want he dog to have the best life possible. I am glad you got Kane back. I am sorry for the way it had to happen. :o

I dont have any advise besides just tell him you dont think the dog deserves that kind of life, most likely he wont come back for him anyways...

I hope Kane gets lots of love and spoiling from you....

you are so sweet to look out for his best interest...!!!

I agree...just point out to him that Kane is really doing well with you, and remind the guy what a responsibility it is to care for a dog. Unless he has totally turned his life around, he will not really be in a position to provide a dog with a good home with a yard, play time, companionship, and proper medical care. If you really stress the cost and time a dog takes, and that you dont' feel right about this guy's situation, hopefully he will see it your way.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't ever come to pick up Kane. Kane is lucky to have you watching out for him.

Don't feel too bad - we all learn through our mistakes, and thankfully you have learned a valuable lesson here without too much damage having been done.

Good luck!

Tell him, "he's my dog now." That's what I did with Buster and I never heard back from the person.
