We are back and did not get the news we were hoping for

She had a bad night of panting all night. Dh was up with her all night because he is home this week. At 430 I went and laid with her and she finally slept some. She wants to go go go and she is eating and drinking but she is hurting. Vet increased her tramadol because she wants to wait on anything else until the ulcer is healed. Vet k ew someone with a wheelchair so we go and get that tomorrow. Dh said she didn't rest all day and I got home from work and she laid right against me on the floor and slept. I just wish this ulcer would heal so she can get something more for the pain. But she is still roxy. Followed me into the bathroom crashing into everything. Comes in front outside and wants to make laps and drags dh right back outside. Still haven't gotten her DM test results. Hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for asking about her!

I'm so glad her spirits are high and she's acting like herself! That is just wonderful! Healing vibes to the ulcer and kisses to Roxy!

Is there someone around you who does dog acupuncture? I have never done it with my dogs but those I know who have all said great things about it. It would be a drug free way to try to get some relief. Just a suggestion. I hope her spirits remain high and you can get her some pain relief soon.

I did acupuncture and also laser therapy with my Roxy when she got older and struggled getting around. The great thing about dogs and treatment like acupuncture is they don't have any "expectations" so you know if you are getting results and it's not all in their head :). The acupuncture gave her some relief and she would move better for a couple weeks. I think I did about 5 treatments over the course of about 3-4 months. We then switched to the laser treatments and those seemed to help too. I think we did several of those in a couple week period and then would have follow-up treatments about every 10-14 days. Good luck -- I know it is just heart wrenching when you know they are in pain and you can find a solution.

I will ask my vet about it but I don't think there is around here. We are in the middle of nowhere. We didn't get the wheelchair today- the lady selling it, cat was attacked by dogs last night and she got bit and had to put the cat down this morning so she is going to get it to us tomorrow.
