That is what I said!! It is a blue one. They aren't specifically meant for dogs they are for all animals. But it was a decent size for $7 and it fit in the trunk of my car!! Perfect size for an 11 week old puppy or for me to sit in and cool off on a hot day!

I ws wondering the same thing. Don't feel silly. Hailey, my female, can't seem to swim, she sinks. When I put a doggie life jacket on her she loves it. She will stay in the water all day. But it is silly to see a dog with a life jacket on the beach. Gelly, I am not sure. When he was a puppy he could swim, same as Hailey. Last year, he jumped in the water after me when he thought I fell in, but I had to rescue him. Not sure if he was nervous or could not swim. I think I will by him a life jacket just in case. I think each dog will be different. Hailey is too dense to float, maybe your dog is the same. You will notice it right when they get in. Haileys front end goes under and her butt floats up. Kinda funny looking, she chiken legs in the back when that happens.

I was wondering if it was all Boxers who could not swim or just mine. Is it a case by case basis? Is it common with Boxers?

i am just guessing here, but this is coming from a triathlete who swims 3 times a week. most boxers are VERY muscular. muscles weight more than fat. it may just be as simple as those boxers that carry a heavy amount of muscle cant keep themselves afloat.

Not sure about the muscle.

Jacob is a very muscular boy (all 70lbs of him) and he LOVES to swim! He's good at it too!! He swims in the lake when we camp, he swims at the beach, he even swims in my parents' above ground pool. We just have to help him out of the pool so that he doesn't tear the liner. We also keep a kiddie pool in the backyard (see my gallery). What can I say, besides "he's a water dog"!

a baby pool is a great idea. i have a blue round plastic one for my rotti but my boxer chloe wont go in the water she hates it. ive even tried taking her to the lake and the hudson along a beautiful beach strip loved the sand and ventured alittle into the water but ran out. yet she will play with the hose all day if you let her though meanwhile my rotti acts like shes sunning in the riviera while laying in her pool.

Puppy Pool..

When we got our pup, his father was there and they had a pool. He absolutely LOVED IT!!! He was funny to watch swim, kinda like a an akward butterfly stroke!!!

When we were at Babys R Us they had a perfect "starter" pool for 4.99!!!! If you have a Toys R Us in the area, you might want to try there. We are going to get one once it warms up a bit here in Calif. I hope our puppy likes the water as we spend alot of time at the river. Our friends even taught there White Lab to ride on the Sea Doo!!! Now that would be funny to see!!! That is what we hope to teach Diezel to do next year when he is bigger!!!

Good Luck
