We are looking to adopt a female boxer puppy (under 1 yr.) in FL. We are willing to travel, but only to a certain extent. We live in central FL on the east coast. I have checked out FBR, but they do not have what we are looking for. If anyone knows of another resource for boxer adoptions, please let us know!

Thank you,
Jill and Chris

I would check www.petfinder.com. I was just on there and it said that flbr had a female fawn pup that would be available for adoption soon. It said she had demodex but that would be treated before she would be available. Her name is Becky and her id is f04-314.

I Volunteer for FLBR and we receive dogs all the time. Go ahead and place your application and go through the home study process. By the time this process would be completed we would most likely have many more beautiful babies to be adopted.

Be patient and I bet the perfect dog will come your way. It took me 4 months until we found the right fit through FLBR for our family.

Good Luck,

Good Luck,

Not to hijack the thread, but how does one volunteer for FLBR? I'd love to volunteer time or my home as a foster home..

Wonderful!!!! We can always use more volunteers. FLBR Volunteers are GREAT and we all have one major thing in common, saving boxers.

If you would like please go to the Florida Boxer Rescue Website and click at the top heading Volunteer. Website http://www.flbr.org/index.html

There is so much you could do for example,
Cur Runs
Helping at fundraising events
Foster homes
and much much more.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

I hope you join this great team of folks!!!!

I just wanted to say I Agree 100% Florida Boxer Rescue is a great organization and they will work with you to find your match. I also volunteer and it is great to get together with others at events and talk about what we all love our beautiful furbabies. Check the website for available dogs and if you don't see what you want don't give up. There are other dogs not listed on the site either because they are in treatment or just arrived etc. Once you get your application in and are approved they will let you know when a dog comes in that matches what you want. Sometimes the dogs don't even get to the website because they are matched to a family whose already approved and waiting. You will also enjoy the support you receive after the adoption from FBR. The many volunteers are spred throughout florida and have dealt with all kinds of situations so they will network and you reap the benefits of their advice and help with any questions or concerns you have.
Good luck and don't give up, they are worth the wait.

With over 400 boxers helped a year, I can't imagine you won't find love. You will have to have your application in though. It's preferable that the people wait for the right boxer, not that the boxers wait for people! (o:

SSpiro, we are always looking for boxer lovers to join the team!

I just saw in the newspaper that there is a woman in DeLand who does boxer rescue and she is affiliated with the Fla. Boxer Rescue. I haven't posted in a long time and I just reviewed the rules and I saw that we're not supposed to post personal info. So I'm not sure how I can get you her info or mine.

The artical was about Anita in Deland. She is wonderful and does so much for FLBR. If you are interested in contacting her you may contact her through the Florida Boxer Rescue website.

We were really excited to see such a great article about Anita.
