Completely Boxer Crazy
So Luka was due for his final vaccination this week- his breeder offered to do it for me. I like her alot, she fit all of BW's criteria, we comunicated alot. I got to spend a good deal of time w/ Luka and his littermates and parents before I picked him up.
Anyway, his breeder is also a groomer. She was working on Saturday, so I agreed to bring him to her shop. She said she'd give him a bath, clean his ears, trim his nails and give him his shot. She said, "Go ahead, do some shopping, come back in an hour".
When I came back, Luka was struggling to get to me and had an upset look on his face. I thought he was just upset because I was gone (like normal). When I was paying, she explained, "He tried to bite me when I was cleaning his ears, so I bit him back. I bit his little nose and it made him pee"
I was so shocked, I didn't know what to say. Then she proceeds to tell me "You're going to have your hands full with him!" and she has this look on his face- like he's such a bad dog. I told her he listens to me very well and he's doing really well w/ training (just on our own). She preceeds to stress what a handful he is and I say we've got puppy kindegarden in January. She says "well, you're goingto need it". (BTW- I know what he was doing, he wasn't trying to bite her. He does this to me every morning when he gets brushed and his eyes cleaned, he tried to push the object- towel, brush- away with his mouth. Sometimes he tries to bite the brush. This is what I think he was doing and she took it to mean he was trying to bite her)
It was after we were driving away that I realized SHE BIT MY DOG! His cute little button nose! :(
I frankly don't want anything to do with this woman anymore. Not only the biting, but labeling Luka as a "bad" dog. He is so good- even on Sunday at Petsmart- it was his first time, he listened really well, didn't jump after I told him not too and didn't pull on his leash (after the initial excited phase). He is eager to meet people and other dogs, only chews his toys, hasn't had an accident in the house for a week or two and is now sitting for 20 seconds- even on our walks with distractions- without any classes!
I'm just so upset- Luka was pretty tramatized too. :mad:
