Very, very bad news about Austin

Had to put another call in to Aussie's onc. again this morning. Since dropping him down to 30mg's of pred he did ok for a few days, but yesterday he started acting wierd again, I tried to take him for a walk and he went about half way down the street, turned himself around and went back home. And going for walks is something he loves to do and looks forward to. He's also been pretty lethargic. So this morning I got really nervous when he didn't even want to get up and refused a treat and seemed to be breathing really fast so I called the dr., crying as usual and they pulled him out of a consult to talk to me. He feels he's having an extreme reaction to the pred, so he cut him down another 10mg and told me to stop the accutane. I have to call him back on Monday to let him know how Aus is doing, and to call him if he gets any worse. Just when I was starting to feel confident that everything was going to be ok. From what I've read about accutane it can cause depression, but I don't know about in dogs. He had this look on his face yesterday that I'd never seen before and it really scared me. I just want him to be ok. Someone passed a comment to me that as a boxer at 10 he's pretty much "maxed out" anyway. Took everything I had not to pop this person right in the mouth. Not going to jail for anyone!

As hard as it might be, please don't give your attention to people who make thoughtless and insensitive remarks such as the one you mentioned. They are not worthy of it.

People can be so mean. Good job holding back, Austin needs his mom. Hope the new med dosage will make things better. Still sending vibes and prayers for you and Austin.
