I have a 7 month old boxer whom was just neutured and he seems to urinate alot. When he greets people or gets really excited he just pees. When he goes out to "do his business" he sometimes lifts his leg and some times doesn't. He will pee on his paws. I was wondering if this is normal behavior for a puppy that was just nueterd. He is housebroken he lets me know when he has to go but sometimes he just stands there and goes. Any help would be very appreciated!

Sounds like he's just really excitable :)

Try to keep greetings very low key, don't make a big
fuss about saying hello when you come in (even from
the mailbox). Even try to ignore him until he sits
calmly, THEN pay attention to him -- this might
get him to relax somewhat until he outgrows the
submissive urination. (Taking him outside to do his business
before company comes will help somewhat too, though males
always seem to hold some urine back just in case something
needs marking!)

As for peeing on his own feet, that's just a guy thing!
Sooner or later he'll get the hang of it --he's still
practicing, trying to be a big boy :)

I agree

The peeing on his paws thing is normal for the first little while. he will get the hand of it. My Dad's Boxer never lifts his leg anymore. I has gotten over the wet paws too. I remember him peeing when excited as well, right after he got neutered. I think it is normal.

Hope this helps.

Thank You all so much. I was begining to get worried about him. I have been doing some research and have learned that it is submissive behavior. I was just concerned because when ever he meets someone, any where he just pees on them and himself.
Thanks again,
Tami
