UPSET at dog park

wow i wouldve totally freaked. Ive been into fist fights over dogs that WERENT mine being abused by people.. i could only imagine if someone hadhurt mine like that.

Wow, I would have lost it on him!! I really don't understand how some people can be so ignorant and rude!! Fortunately there were no injuries - hugs to your babies.

While I agree that her dogs did not need to be kicked. There are times when you do need to kick a dog. My boxer was in the same type situation. Only the other dog attack mine and was trying to rip out her throat. The owner of the other dog could not get his animal to release mine and was not letting go. My sister kicked that dog and it save my dog's life.
I think the real problem is owners that don't have controll over thier animals. It is alway a risk when you take them to dog parks. I took mine back because I did not want Diabla to be afraid of other dogs and I thougt the only way she could be as ease with them was to go back. She is doing good and the only side effect is when she is with larger dogs she want to be higher, like on a bench until she feels safe.

That aside, however, I have noticed that alot of dogs don't understand how boxers play, perhaps that could be how the whole thing began??

How horrible for your babies! Are they ok? I agree with you...if you do see him, go the other way. People who come out with a violent reaction like that should not even be dealt with. If you do see them again be ready to call authorities in case this should happen again to someone elses baby.

my guys are ok--I am still mad.
Thank you for all your support--I wish I had got his liscence #--however I think the police wouldnt do anything! If I ever see him again I just wont go in there!

If you do ever see him, be sure to get his lic. plate #. The police may not do anything, but you could report him for cruelty to animals. I am glad that your babies are OK.

Poor Scrapper has had too many bad experiences at dog parks. Ignorant people think he is threatening looking but HE'S the one getting bitten. After the third attack and bite on him, and me getting bitten trying to intervene, I quit going.

Call the police

I highly suggest calling the police and at least putting this on their radar. Then, if he shows up at the park again, you can call them and have them come out. I know that some people think that the police will not do anything, but remember there are Federal laws against animal cruelty and they are taken very seriously. Also, I would suggest contacting your local SPCA office and alerting them. Also, if you see him again let him know that you have made the contacts and that you will be giving the police his license plate number.

I know exactly how you feel. We used to used to frequent Piedmont Park until Sasha got attacked. A shepard mix attacked her and her owner was so apathetic and unapologetic i was LIVID!! Sasha was bleeding in three places and had bit marks all over her....nothing was life threatning, but did require a trip to the vet to see if she needed stitches and to get an antibiotic. When i approached the lady to ask her if her dog had shots...she asked me why and assured me he had and was completely uninterested in offering any other info! I would have offered my phone number( and cc# at the vets office) at the least!!
People are so rude and inconsiderate. I vowed not to be intimidated by the situation but honestly we have not been back. Hope your babies are fine....would love to meet you for a playdate sometime!! We are fairly close!!
