Today, Cookie is 8 weeks post-radiation. She's going in today for her recheck CT scan to see if the radiation therapy killed the original tumor. While she's asleep, she's also going to have surgery to remove her mast cell tumor. The MCT is in the irradiated field, so there is danger that the incision won't heal well, and she has to have the sutures in for at least a month. Any positive thoughts you can send in her direction would be appreciated!
She's very funny this morning. Because I can't feed her, she's been following me around, wooing incessantly. She's obviously thinking, "Hey! Can't you figure out you've FORGOTTEN my breakfast?!?" :D Silly dog.
I know they'll take good care of her, and the surgeon even offered to let me do the surgery, but I can't operate on my own dog. I'm just nervous for her. *sigh*
