Boxer Insane
Ewwwww!!

Juno got into a situation with an opossum a couple weeks ago. Poor thing then went and "played possum" and luckily that was enough for her to leave it alone. I actually thought it was dead lol and did NOT want to go out there and clean it up. But luckily he was alive and scampered away, and luckily I did not have to be grossed out about my dog eating it.

She has not eaten any dead birds--that I know of...

Napoleon has caught a few things out in the backyard over the past few years. First time he caught a bird that had fallen out of a tree and couldn't fly away. He got it in his mouth, but didn't chew or bite down on it. Just kinda kept it in his mouth. We were able to get him to drop it, put the bird into a shoebox and we have a bird conservatory/nature center near our house so we took it there. They took the bird in.

The second time was at night. He was going to the bathroom when all of a sudden I see him dart across the yard towards the fence. I shone the flashlight at him and see his eyes and another set of eyes looking back at me hanging out of his mouth. GREAT!!!! I convinced him to drop what he had in his mouth and took him inside. I didn't know what it was so I just shone the flashlight back to where he had dropped whatever it was. I see the eyes staring back at me but this thing isn't moving. I only really see a head...I go inside and tell my wife, "I think we have a half eating something outside." She comes downstairs and we go back outside. We walk closer to whatever it was and this thing starts to move away from us. Turns out it was a possum that eventually ran under the fence and into the neighbor's yard. They really do play dead!

We have frogs that like to go in the pool in our backyard during the hot summer, Napoleon hasn't noticed those yet but I'm curious to see how he would react to a frog jumping all over the place.

LOL, Jersey likes to do these things too, although she has a range of dead creatures she brings to me or runs around with in the yard.... Birds, bats, Rabbits, Parts of Deer, mice... You know whatever she can get her mouth on. She usually tries to bring sticks on the house and so one night I called the dogs in and they came in happily except Charlie looked like he was in trouble.... (he always gives Jersey away). And so I looked at Charlie and I was like what is wrong? Then I looked at Jersey who INSTANTLY stopped chewing what was in her mouth.... I told her to drop it and she hesitated and then dropped it..... it was an entire bird.... She brought an entire bird in the house to eat... I thought I was going to throw up!
