Ugly Face

Quinsi has such a bad underbite that he does the "ugly face" all the time. We think it is too cute and laugh at him. He of course just looks at us with that boxer face of his like he is asking "What are you laughing at?"

Most people think they are ugly...
Our neighbor must think this. One day their daughter (6 years old) and her friend were playing. Quinis ran over the fence and was barking at them wanting to play. She looked at her friend and said "There is that ugly dog". I know she didn't come upwith that on her own so her mom must have said that about Quinsi at one time. Her mom over heard her say that about Quinis and told her to be quiet. Ever since then when the neighbors are outside and I have to call Quinsi in I yell "Quinsi, inside you ugly dog" I do this because I don't like my neighbors and this kind of lets them know that I know how they feel about my dog. :D

Whenever we take Max to the Petstore it is as he is a superstar as people come up and say what a beautiful boy and such. I have to get pictures posted. All of them say he is so well behaved, little do they know he is timid.

All dogs are great, but boxers are the best!

My husband and I are soooo in love with our "mush-mouth" Rox I can't imagine when people make the ugly comments about Boxers!
I do understand however, because I was not familiar with the breed before I adopted her, and I think they do 'grow on ya', but when they do, they grab ahold of your heart so much stronger than any other breed I know! lovicon
I think you will all agree with me......we are a lucky bunch here at Boxerworld!

Yup Yup

When we got Siren and sent a baby pic of her to some of my family members, not telling them that she was the newest addition to our family - we got a lot of eeeww - ugly dog comments. Her "look" has grown on me considerably - but it wasn't her face I fell in love with to begin with. My sister calls her ugly...but she also calls her fat because she's 65 lbs and her dog is 8. So I guess it's just in the eye of the beholder! The more boxers I meet and see, the more handsome I find the breed. I particularly love the underbite because I have one myself!!! :)

Once we were all inside at Mark's grandparents house and Asia and Nelly (her little Boston Terrier cousin) were sitting in the back yard by the glass door waiting to come inside. One of Mark's cousins (who doesn't come around often, thank the Lord) was looking at Asia, looked at me and said "That is the ugliest dog I have ever seen in my life"! And at this point, she was a puppy ... in the prime of her cuteness!!! I couldn't believe it ... and I couldn't say anything because it was in front of Mark's family and I didn't want to sound disrespectful ... but luckily they all love her and stood up for her.

People at Petsmart and such either love her or are scared of her because of her hyperness (which we are working on)!

I can't see how people can say "OMG that dog is SO mean looking" when their tongues are hanging out half way to the ground, their butts are shaking, and they have a 'smile' on their little face!

My neighbor is always telling me that my boxers are ugly. He says, "You still walking them ugly dogs?" He cracks up every time. Doesn't bother me that he finds my dogs ugly. To be honest I find some of the longer muzzled breeds ugly. I guess beauty truly is in the eyes of the beholder.

LOL my parents, my sister, my brother and my closest cousins all own labs. We just didn't want a lab... had to be a boxer. :)

We get plenty of ribbing about our 'ugly' dog but everyone agrees she has the best temperment of the bunch!! She's such a lover!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
we all know that smushy faces are the best...who cares what anyone else thinks??

Well my Dizzy is a retired beauty queen - he's a lovely Boxer but I realize that he's not to everyone's taste. Mind you, I have a great love for Boxers, Bostons, Greyhound, and Doxies...not everyone's ideal "beautiful dog". Not really one for Goldens and Labs.

Anyway, I really appreciate the people who love my dogs...my obedience teacher has a mastiff and he just loves to hang out with Diesel...always interrupting our practice time to pet and make out with Diz...I can't argue. Of course, the good news is he also offered me a job tonight after watching the way Diz and I interact for two classes. I'm so excited! Working part time at a kennel may not be the most glamourous thing I could do, but it will make me happy for sure.
