When mine were young I would be really HAPPY :) when the leash went on. So get a treat he never gets unless you are going for a walk on lead and the minute you clip it on treat him. Then "dance" backward offering treats and I bet he will follow you. When he does, treat, treat treat. Be really stupid excited :) so you are just irresistable. I had a very timid girl and this worked for her. Good luck

Tyson HATES being on a leash

When I took Daisy to obedience class our instructor told those who's dogs fought the leash to get a dowel and put some peanut butter on the end and just kinda keep it in front of the dogs face to get them to keep going forward, letting them get a lick in here and there. Kinda like dangling a carrot before the horse trick. Daisy took to the leash so I had no problem with her. Just thought I would pass the dowel thing along in the hopes it might work for you. Good luck!

Holly wasn't over keen on the collar but she was great with the harness, the first time I carried her over the threshold to the pavement by then she didn't have much of a choice of where to go but forward. My kids help by encouring her with her favourite toy, and her first walk outside was just to the bottom of the road and back, couple of minutes, then I just increased the times, and know one week on she does all the school runs, she gets so much attention she laps it up. She also has a social gathering up the school with a few other dogs which is great for her socialising skills and loads kids coming up to pet her. Now I only have to mention walkies and she's there waiting.
