Boxer Booster
thank you
for you thoughts and for caring. It does really really hurt to not have him here. Everytime I come home, everytime I wakeup I have to remember all over again that he is an hour away. They are taking good care of him, and today he did seem better. He was a little better then Saturday, and much better then yesterday. He wagged his nub when he saw me and i laid down on his blanket with him in his enclosure again, like yesterday. There are no results from the bloodwork yet, and they still think this is brain related. They will do a MRI on Wednesday, as that is the day that U of R lets them use the special animal mri unit. I will know something by late that evening. They could do skull xrays but they would have to give him anesthesia and they don't want to do xrays and an mri and have to give him antsthesia twice. When an animal has neurological issues, it is very difficult to wake them up afterwards, and it is a risk. The mri will tell them more than the xrays would, according to the vet.
This is very good advice:
"expect the worst, hope for the best, an be thankfull for the outcome!! what ever it means. I will hope for the best. an expect the best an not be happy till the outcome is the best!!!"
and it sums up how I am feeling right now. Sunday, I actually thought he looked so bad, I said goodbye in my heart, and I told him not to suffer, to get well if he could, but not to suffer.
I do need to ask them if they can give him something for the dizziness, that is a very good idea! When I called later today, they said after I left this morning he stood up and immediately flopped over but he hasn't tried to stand up in days so unless this is caused by the steroids it is a good sign. All those thoughts and prayers coming his way are probably helping him. Thank you so much!
