I currently have a soon to be 7 month old male boxer (Ty). Ty has been fixed. The breeder I purchased Ty from has called to ask if i wanted one of Tys male siblings. The people who had him had to move and returned the dog to the breeder as requested. My question is will two male dogs get along together?

Really depends on the dogs. Best combo is male/female, then male/male, and two females is not ususally a good idea. But my male could live with any dog, while my girl not so much :) so I think the temperment of your pup and the other is the key thing. Also, the way this other pup has been raised so far-well socialized, etc. I guess I would ask all that of the breeder and the owner too if possible, think about my boy's temperment and then have them meet on neutral ground and see how that goes. I find with most boxers they LOVE companionship. Good luck whatever you decide :)

I have 2 males and a female. They all get along great infact my two boys love each other to bits and sleep together even though we have 3 dog beds.

I have two males, one was almost a year old and loved other dogs when we added the second to our home.

They are now 3 years and 2 1/2 years old and get along great!!! Love each other, play together, cuddle and have to know where the other one is at ALL times.

I say if Ty is dog friendly and your ready for another one......go for it!!!! So much more fun than just one :)

Keep us updated on your decision.

I've never had two males, so I'm not sure about that, but I think you've gotten some good advice so far! I just wanted to say that I also have a seven month old named Ty:) We wish you luck with whatever you decide!

We had two males. We rescued Conner at aroun 5-7 years old and when he was found he was still intact. We rescued Astro about two months later. He was aroun one year old. They got along wonderfully...a few spats here and there but nothing serious.

If you have two males its always a good idea to have them both fixed. A male dog who has not been fixed can get very frustrated because he is constantly thinking about mating. So when the dog can't mate, they become very frustrated and aggresive. When I say aggresive, I mean constant wrestling and pouncing on their male counterpart. My oldest, Noah is fixed. Brody is scheduled to be fixed on the 14th. Im hoping the wrestling will some what subside.

Got this info from Ceasar Millan. :)

I think it has more to do with the dogs and not the sex. I had a male and female and was a bit concerned when I added another female. Everything you read says two females is not a good mix. Our new female and male had more problems than the girls. We have since rehomed the male and my girls get along great.

Go for it !!

We are doing the same thing as you are ! Duke will be 7 1/2 months when we get Sarge in December which will be a 1/2 brother to Duke. I can't wait for our addition ! We had a female for a short bit and I think 2 is Great. Duke's been lost since she left !

Good Luck !
