That is what I have done and will do with our local Boxer Rescue. Somehow sending them donations has helped in my lose of KOKO and Cassius( both in one years timeframe )
Tho it may be hard to believe it now but it will get better with time. It took me weeks before I could talk about Cassius without crying. KOKO was easier because we have been expecting it for the last 3 years and we knew she had lived a complete lifespan. Everytime I think about them tho I start to choke-up or cry.
Just remember crying is healthy and part of the grieving process. It also helps me to keep the idea of the rainbow bridge in mind, in that I will see them again and that they are now pain free and happy. It is always the ones left behind that have a harder time. They are all having a fine time doing boxer burns etc. with no one there to tell them to get off the counter, get out of the garbage can, or to stop chewing the furniture etc.
